Re: Help!! Need to replace a blown component and can't identify the part!
Thank you for your help! I will look up that number. There was a suggestion that it could be a slightly different part number, based on the following circuit diagram. Do you think it's the same as what you're mentioning? I'm not an electronics engineer, so am having a hard time tracking down this part.

Re: 15-w237cl - Schematic Request
Thanks SO much Anshad!
I don't have the skills to verify the circuit. I could be wrong but I see similar component numbers on the board as well (C5220, R5224 etc) in the same vicinity on the board.
Hoping it's right.
Based on that diagram you posted, I've ordered this part: RT9724GB-GP.
Will see how it goes. Wish me luck!
Thank you, once again.Last edited by eskimojo47; 03-30-2021, 10:10 PM.

Re: 15-w237cl - Schematic Request
Was able to match the board layout to this one:

I feel stupid, and admit my mistake, but the silk screen was under the RAM module. I looked at the picture on the link and then realized to look under the RAM.
Sorry!
Anyway, the exact ODM Numbers are":

Re: 15-w237cl - Schematic Request
Thank you so much for your message.
I couldn't find the silkscreen printed text, hence the pictures. I've seen the ODM part numbers before, but didn't find on this specific board.
Maybe the original screenprint is under the stickers? I will check again and post if I find it.
Thank you....

Re: Help!! Need to replace a blown component and can't identify the part!
Thank you so much!
I found a video that referred to that specific component (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE4wuuVD06I), but the laptop model was different. Also, the technician in the video couldn't conclusively determine why that component blew out so frequently.
Should I just try it out? and if it's the wrong component, could it cause further irreparable damage?Re: Help!! Need to replace a blown c...k you so much!

HP Envy x360 15-w237cl Help!! Need to replace a blown component
Hi All,
Was trying to clean the dust and while replacing the component in the attach pic burnt out and smoked.
The laptop model is HP Envy x360 15-w237cl.
End goal is to replace it with the same part or an equivalent. Would appreciate any help or advice towards that goal.
I've tried to google for this laptop model number and the component ID U52202 (See pic), but nothing shows up.
Pic of the burnt component:

15-w237cl - Schematic Request
Hi All,
Can anyone please help locate the schematic and boardview for HP Envy X360 laptop? The exact model number I'm looking for is 15-w237cl.
I'm trying to identify a blown component that I can hopefully replace and that's my end goal really.
Appreciate any help or advice towards that goal.
Anyway, I'm trying to identify the specific burnt component here in the attached pic. May I get some advice on what kind of component it is (voltage regulator?) and spec (if at all possible)?

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi all,
Great to be here. I'm a tinkerer and a hobbyist, but most importantly I'm someone who wants to fix my own laptop on the cheap instead of paying nearly the cost of a new laptop to fix the old one. LoL!
Looking to learn a lot from folks here.
Have a great day!
