Re: Canon Power Shot A540
multimeter reads 2 ohms between positive and negative.
i could not locate anything saying fuse on the motherboard,
i found a slightly big smd with 2 terminals named 33 62rnj with a diode kind of marking, i assumed it is a zener and removed it but no go, but the resistance is still the same b/w positive and negative.
even i am of opinion something more than a fuse or zener is fried as SD card is fried and sd card holder is on a diff board not main motherboard

Re: Canon Power Shot A540
hi davg i did the same thing to my canon a540 today, connected a 12 volt supply in place of 3 volt and my camera died also SD card no longer works. i got few repair manuals of different models on elektrotanya but could not locate the fuse in this model. i am curious if you were able to get ur camera working, just curious to know the fix.
