Re: Samsung 245b Plus
Hi guys. I received the caps yesterday and went through the recapping process.
Unfortunately, I am a complete amateur at soldering and I have damaged the PCB. Please forgive my horrible blobby soldering, I improved near the end of the job :P

The blue line is the solder pad that I found after removing it while desoldering.

Re: Samsung 245b Plus
Ok I see the situation. So what is the best way to proceed?
Do you think the good folks at badcaps.net would make me up a kit of the caps i need? It will take longer than i'd like this way but as an old irish saying goes "Sure what can you do"

Re: Samsung 245b Plus
Thanks for the link scenic. I had forgotten about irfanview
I have uploaded the resized pics, so should be less trouble to check them now. I do realise that I am missing a pic of the bottom of the board, sorry but this will have to wait till sunday when i'm home if needed.
Any word on if i have missed any caps from the marked diagram?
Any help on what to order from the UK/Irish sites linked above would be great.
EDIT: A way to remove the yellow gunk holding some groups of caps in place? Rubbing...

Re: Samsung 245b Plus
Thanks for the quick response Retired.
My pics are 4k*4k
So my aim is to replace all caps marked on the pic except M(82 uF 450v). Safe to work on the other caps with this big one still charged once I am careful not to touch the solderpoints on the bottom of the board? The monitor has been off for about 2 weeks.
Mind having a look at my pics? The labelled ones, Have i missed any?
I understand that boards change with different revisions. Why are the voltage of the caps in the kits supplied not listed...

Samsung 245b Plus
Hi,
I would like some help reviving Samsung 245b Plus.
Model: 245BPLUS
Model Code: LS24HUBCBL/EDC
Type No: HU24BS
The Symptoms:
Monitor appears to be on(Blue Light on solid)
No signal to screen, no menu
Worked for a few days by turning it off for 30 seconds then on again but it eventually gave up
So far following your guide I have taken apart the monitor and removed the power board. Examined the board and documented the capacitors i see there. Please point out if I've missed any.
