820-2936-B: Is that a thermal pad(s) under the cover?
After replacing the thermal paste on the heat sink, I noticed a metal cover over U1800 & U3600. I want to know what thermal compound was used, is it paste or pad, how thick should the pad be if it's a thermal pad(s). Is there any thermal reason to even mess with cover, what do you do?

820-2532-A I think my MCU is bad (U1400)
I'm working on 820-2532-A board and I think the MCU (U1400) is bad (shorted). Initially I found a short across C7252 (PP5_S3_REG) and replaced it. With a little more troubleshooting I found no voltage (PM_SLP_S4_L) coming out of U1400. I then found a short to ground on PPMCPCORE_S0_REG. I removed R5425 to verify the short was on the output side of R5425 and removed C7565 & C7568 to verify they were not shorted but the short is still present. Is there anything else I should check?

Looking for a replacement cap for 820-2532-A C7252
I'm working on a 820-2532-A and have found a short across C7252 (PP5V_S3_REG, 5V out). I introduced voltage across C7252 (using an external power supply) and only the cap felt hot. When I removed C7252 the short goes way. When I measure across the cap that is removed from the board it does not measure are hard short (low resistance) but when I apply voltage only across the cap it draws alot of current from an external power supply, so I know this cap is bad. I am trying to find a replacement for this shorted cap. On the 820-2532-A schematic it list the following info about this cap:
C7252...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
I've been working at the same company in Texas for over 25 years, troubleshooting down to component level and replacing those components as well. I've offend wondered if someone could make a little extra on the side doing this line of work. I came across Louis Rossmann's videos on YouTube and thought I would give it a try.
