Re: HP Probook 440 G4 Working BIOS
success: and thanx to you and all who are involved.
i dont know if everyone is doing the process the same or not, here is what i did (first time ever i did a hardware bios flash)
i used ch341 programmer with the clip attachment (so i dont need to desolder)
1) identify chip (a few failed attempts made to get it to read, due to pin-clip orientation) success
2) read/dump chip success
3) load "DA0X81MB6E0 REV. E Working BIOS." to buffer

Re: mec 16xx dump with info block
i ordered the vertyanov kit, and it comes with the keyboard connectors as it looks like thats why i was asking, the pogo pins you have to make one and arrange it, extra work... when you remove the mobo, it is easier to just plug keyboard flex cable no? pogo pins/cables you will need to get stable contact tapes etc?
i read aaac comment about read-backup-erase-program data, and use tool to fix serial model etc info you only need to move the resistor on erase-program stage? and move it back after that and before the fixing...

Re: mec 16xx dump with info block
does it mean, in either cases you have to move/solder the resistor anyway? or kbc can do it without resistor issue? i m confused just trying to figure it out. thanx...

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
we got another worker brought thinkpad t14s laptop with broken screen, when i replaced the lcd panel and turned on, it had bios password. this time worker doesnt remember the password. i took a look inside and saw a winbond chip (i m guessing this is bios chip?) also it still has lenovo 3rd tier (best warranty on it still) is it possible to use sop8 and the tools to reset the bios on T14s or do you think lenovo warranty will replace the board under warranty?...

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
i ll keep a note of this. and thank you for the help. problem is solved actually without needing anything else... worker provided possible passwords he thought set up. and i tried them with caps on and off, one of them worked... he set up with caps on so i tried by hunch and figured it out. but future issues i ll keep on this.. maybe buy a model with locked bios and figure out with the programmer for practice....

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
it s t480s,
one of our office worker was given this to do remote work during lock down, he had a problem with his ssd, so when i changed the ssd, and tried to boot with usb for new install, i couldnt do f12, went to bios found SVP so cant change anything (edit: worker doesnt remember setting it up, but we never put svp so gotta be someone from his house, or himself lying). I can use usb nvme enclosure to do the job one way or another but was thinking of finding out easy reset procedure. thought...

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
hi, when you guys say flash and replace the current bios do you guys mean you need to flash the bios using some external flashers? and not direct windows/software right? because i m confused as when you try to flash from within windows it doesnt flash if it has bios lock already. so i m assuming you guys are referring to some hardware flasher and some kind of soldering needed? is it correct?
asking as a semi noob.
thank you...
