Re: Repairing Alesis M1 Active mk2 Monitor Speakers
Usually C8 needs to be replaced when the LED is flashing.
C8 was replaced by HonongX VEHT 105°C 330uF
Flashing came 3 Days afterwards.
I replaced C8 again, but its still flashing and clicking.
Any suggestions?Last edited by filth; 02-04-2021, 01:54 AM.

Re: Repairing Alesis M1 Active mk2 Monitor Speakers
What causes the blue flashing light? One of my freshly repaired monitors had a flashing led which went away on itself and is now working again

Re: Repairing Alesis M1 Active mk2 Monitor Speakers
R3 and R4 are showing 6kOhm. The value rises slowly to 30kOhm and above when measuring.
R5 5.6 Ohm
--> i get the same readings on the working board
Q3 & Q4 look good, compared with the working board i get the same readings between the pins.
D5 gives same reading on both boardsLast edited by filth; 01-28-2021, 01:01 PM.

5-7 3.3v
5-8 0v
Im not an expert but from my guess Q6 and Q7 are next candidates for replacement?Last edited by filth; 01-28-2021, 12:19 PM.

Re: Repairing Alesis M1 Active mk2 Monitor Speakers
I thought maybe its possible to power the board with a lower voltage for safety reasons.
Give me a second, i will measure it...

With 220v connected and switched on? Can i remove the UC3844 and measure the voltages between the pins then?...Last edited by filth; 01-28-2021, 11:59 AM.

Re: Repairing Alesis M1 Active mk2 Monitor Speakers
I replaced the UC3844N now. The LED is still dead.
To sum it up, what I replaced now:
- C6, C7 (390uF caps)
- C8
- 1uF Cap
- 1N4007 diodes
- 2x IRF840 (Q1 + Q2)
- 10 ohm NTC
- UC3844N
What should I check next?

Re: Repairing Alesis M1 Active mk2 Monitor Speakers
Hi Guys,
i have two failed MK2 here. I was able to repair the first one (390uF caps and the 1N4007 diodes). But now im failing with the second one. Its just dead.
Im not an expert so I guess i need help.
I have already replaced C6, C7 (390uF caps), the 1N4007 diodes, C8 and the 1uF cap.
Also i replaced both the IRF840 (Q1 + Q2) and the 10 ohm NTC.
Its not switching on, no LED at all.
Can someone give me a clue what to do next? Does it make sense to replace...Last edited by filth; 01-22-2021, 11:14 AM.
