Re: Toshiba Satellite M70 Display

Yes I could order a new cable for another $55. plus shipping ... but it may end up being a motherboard problem after all that ... and for something this old, I've probably already wasted more money on it that it is even worth. Any advice before scrapping this project

a neighbour handed my one of their old laptps, a Toshiba Satellite M70 (SR6) saying that the screen had gone blank ... I have repaired several of my own laptops, so said I would take a look for them.

an external monitor worked just fine, and the screen was completely black (no shadow image) so I 'presumed' that the problem was likely the LCD, or the inverter, or both. ordered a new screen and replaced it, no go; so I ordered a new inverter and replaced that too, still no go. All the work was done with the battery removed, and the connections have been double checked, etc ......
