Re: Akai AA-V305
Unfortunately it looks like the only service manuals online for this particular machine are going to cost you. I found two sites online that are selling it right now, marked below.

Re: A1502 820-3476 Works but no fan spin
Hi,
Perhaps there is a loose connection somewhere between the fan and the main PC, that keeps it from starting up on boot. Definitely check that the main connector from the motherboard to the fan is properly fitted.
I don't know how you could check if it is a non-issue without just letting it run for long enough until you'd imagine the fan should kick in... of course, that risks overheating the computer.
For some more help, I found this guy working on the same computer, with the exact opposite...

Re: How to avoid shitty "McWires"?
Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, securing the wires sounds like it could be a good solution. However, there are some that I have around that, due to their position or nature, can't be properly secured (for example, there's a set of McWires running a high-power flywheel motor, one of which came loose during normal use).
How would I go about finding out which length, thickness, or other type of wire I can replace those ones with? Is it just a matter of resistance?...

How to avoid shitty "McWires"?
I've opened up a lot of electronics, and I keep on seeing these stupid little thin wires. On hand I can (and did) pull out three different things with this same wire in it (a clock, a mini arcade machine, and a multimeter), and I suspect my newest broken thing failed because one of these wires went loose.
These things are just overall low-quality. They're easily frayed, they never stay on their joint for long, and they're everywhere. For this reason, I call them McWires. I have attached examples below; one appears to have rusted, and the last image shows a McWire that came broken...

Could this be what you're looking for?

I found it by googling the thread title with quotes around the serial number, since quotes specify that the search results MUST have that phrase in them.Re: Lg ebr71736801

Co...le with quotes

Re: Dell U2410F smudging
This is pretty hard to diagnose since there could be multiple things going on here.
The best information I could find on this problem is ghosting (which is basically a bad refresh rate) and image retention (which is fixed just by having the monitor off for a long time, and it looks a lot messier than this from what I can see).
Now I DID see like 3 similar complaints for this model on the Dell support site, but only 2 of them were solved and they were solved with buying a new monitor.
The closest resemblance I...

Re: Synchmaster 275T plus white is yellowish?
If you've just gotten this monitor, it's probably just a tint issue you can fix in monitor or computer display settings.
If you've had the monitor for a while and this problem is new, check if things are properly plugged in and that the video card is in place. Especially check ribbon cables since those things are weird in the way they connect and how vulnerable they are to damage.

Re: The 2021 Operating System Thread
I have Windows 10 on my home PC, but with how buggy and unstable it was with my old one, I'm seriously considering switching over to Linux when I get a new laptop.

Ideal Soldering Practice?
Hey all,
I'm a newbie in terms of electronics repair, and I finally want to learn how to solder now that I have the proper kit.
However, I still have fears about practicing indoors, as my house and furniture is 90% wood, including my work desk.
Would it be practical to try my first soldering outside? Should I keep a fire extinguisher on standby? Any help appreciated.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
I'm just a guy from Virginia, USA looking for a nice electronics community.
I got interested in electronic repair around the time I was 13 or 14, and since then I've taken great pleasure in fixing whatever I can. Usually it's simple things like replacing parts without soldering, but I'm hoping to go further with this.
So I found this forum while looking for an answer as to why my new multimeter wasn't working, and I decided to stick around because this looks like a nice place to talk about electronics...
