Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
I understand the concept of this being a donation of others time and knowledge it can just be frustrating when 4 different forums yield no results once the problem is known to not be as simple as one hoped.
I took the working fan and plugged into all 3 different plugs on the PA board to verify the ports are good which thhey are and switched the bad fans with th good fan wire and so on and so forth and no life came from 2 of the fans in any arrangement. when the good fan spooled up i tried flicking the "bad"...

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
Well,
with the astounding amount of help(i say that sarcastically) i finally found the problem. The PA board did in fact have a shorted Main 3.3V which put the tv into shutdown. i swapped the PA board today and im one step closer. that solved my 10 blinks but sadly now i have 11 blinks for a fan SOS and i found 2 of the 3 fans to be defective so now i need to swap those out and hopefully then see a lit up screen. but as for the 10 blink problem it was the PA board so anyone with the same problem stumbling upon...

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
yes. post #9 should have a pic of my power board which is in fact different.
I have used 3 different power boards so i think that can be ruled out.
but as for a test point having a ground connectionto the ground on the board
is that normal? even though none of the others have a connection to ground...

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
This has to be a simple answer for someone who has any background in circuit boards.
here is a link to the pdf for the service manual. the PA bboard schematic is around pg. 82.
You have to wait briefly for the download link under the picture.
All i need to know is if the main 3.3V test point being connected to ground is normal (Perhaps a switch?) or if this a short and the cause of my problem.
I need to know ASAP there is a good deal on this board right...

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
ok, so heres some numbers i just got.
after reading through a different panasonic manual i found this:
If the SUB 5V,
SUB 9V or MAIN
3.3V is missing
on the DG Board,
the unit goes into
shutdown.
The power LED
blinks ten times.
The voltages are
monitored on the
DG board by the
MPU, IC1103.
So to test these voltages there is test points on the PA board for each.
while plugged in and blinking the error...

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
so i assume this tv is nothing more than oversized paper weight? nobody seems to have any thoughts on a possible problem now that i swapped the power board. I wish i could find someone familar with this particular tv. its taking up way to much room on my workbench and not having a living room tv is starting to get old.

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
There should be an attached picture in post #9.
I tried swapping parts but that did not go well at all. i was able to get a full refund without shipping it back so i bought another board and now i still get the 10 blinks. apparently the pansonic flowchart is not foolproof.
the flowchart starts off by saying remove DT board. still 10 blinks? yes, so then i move on to disconnect connector PA40. still 10 blinks soi move on to 14v present at pin 1 of p10. no there isnt any voltage. disconnect p10 is...

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
I was able to watch a piece of it this morning by leaving the video loading all night and i see that it is referring to the small boards that stick up off the main board. my board has 4 of them but none that look just like the ones in the video. If i knew which one supplied the power for the relays to click i could just swap it out but im not very good at reading schematics yet. im guessing it is the MC502 board (Relay/PFC control module) at least thats what makes sense to me from what i can figure out in the block diagram....

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
I have not had a solid internet connection good enough to watch any youtube videos but i did just try to load the page and my tv is not listed in the description i see alot of PZ's i have the 50PX600U. The 9th generation plasmas seem fairly close together in construction but i cannot load any videos at the moment.

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
Shipping prices here can be quite obnoxious. A board of this size would cost around $8 to ship the slowest and cheapest method. ebay does not make the seller pay for return shipping so im on my own and if i choose that route i would have to wait for it to arrive and then wait until i have enough money to purchase another seeing as all the others are slightly more expensive. I would like to part the boards together and get one good board this weekend and hopefully a working TV.
Im quite determined to get this TV...

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
Well... as my luck would have it i recieved the replacement power supply today only to end up with 2 defective power supplies. The replacement one does nothing at all, not even a relay click or error light. the previous board set off an error light and the relays could be heard.
I checked the fuses and all are well. The board comes with a warranty but i paid $35 and it will cost at least $10 to ship it back and i have no money left at all so i guess im stuck with having to get one board working out of the two....

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
A good Samaritan randomly emailed me and provided me with a document from Panasonic for 9th generation plasmas which was a flow chart to diagnose the 10 blink error. There was two charts, one for 10 blinks when Plugged in and one for 10 blinks when turned on. Being my situation I followed the 10 blinks when plugged in flow chart which I followed and left me off at the power board needing replacement. So as long as these flow charts are reliable and accurate then the power board is the source of my 10 blink error.

Re: Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
The 10 blinks includes the standby circuit so is it safe to conclude that the standby circuit has a fault? The tv won't even go into standby, it immediately goin into the blinking error code. I would think if it was the PA or video board which is also covered by 10 blinks that the tv would still go into standby and when turning the tv on the error code would display? If I am correct that it is most likely the standby circuit could someone please tell me which board Is responsible for this process? Is it integrated into the power...

Re: RCA L37WD12 LCD TV works fine then powers off and wont turn on
Flux makes sense seeing as there's no caps on the other side by the gunk. I'm sure it gets hot but it can't be overheating since it has the issue even when cold. I feel as though the tiny capacitors would be very unlikely to fail unless there was a manufacturing issue. I'm wondering if its the large main capacitor which is in the middle with the black top....

Re: RCA L37WD12 LCD TV works fine then powers off and wont turn on
The problem was happening before I replaced those caps. For some reason I thought I was onto something but turned out I was not. But once I find the real problem I guess I will have to swap those out again with the premium ones.
The underside of that small board has dried up gunk spots could that be a leaky cap?
I'm no electronics expert but I plan to take some college courses eventually once I finish my degree. So I'm very much a beginner. I figured a capacitor was a capacitor as long...

Re: RCA L37WD12 LCD TV works fine then powers off and wont turn on
1st picture shows the layout of everything in the chassis
2nd is the power board. (blue capacitors are ones which i already replaced)
3rd is the small board in the upper corner of the tv the 5 volt or watt cant remember what its called.
4th is the underside of that board which seems suspicious looking for some reason.

Re: RCA L37WD12 LCD TV works fine then powers off and wont turn on
Thanks for your input,
Unfortunately I don't think it's an overheating issue. Now it won't turn on even when it's been off for hours. It takes about 3 tries now to initially turn it on. Then it usually lasts 15-30 minutes and a hole lot more tries before it comes back on and stays on. I also noted that the tv has not been responsive to some of the attempts to turn the tv on. Could this be related to the small 5w/v board in the top corner by the power supply? I forgot what it is called....

Panasonic 50PX600U Plasma 10 blinks wont turn on
I have a 50 inch panasonic plasma tv that is giving the 10 blink code for an error with the PA or H Board. I removed all the boards and inspected them and all i found was HDMI port 1 burnt but shouldnt affect it especially since it is on a different board. I also noted that the 3 large 220V 900uF capacitors on the cold side of the P board are slightly domed. however I have read some posts of this being normal in large capacitors. I saw nothing else suspicious so i put all the boards back on.
I also noted from another post to disconnect P5 on the power board (P) and check for 15V...
