Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
I fixed!
It seems my soldering skill are awful now after so many years and some pins where not properly soldered. I used the multimeter and track all the pics with the chips schematic and board schematic and now it is back!. Proper pic.
I have disconnected the cords 20 times and still turning on so I guess the new chips is doing its work... lets see next eletrict sortcut.
thanks guys.

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
I know by a fact it isn't the input as without it the floating "Not connected" message is only visible properly on the right side, not the left one, where it is flurry, like interference..

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
thanks for the advices.
yes, the freedthru was there and it worked.
Now the screen turn on (not sure if because I changed one of the chips).. but in my first try, half of the screen the image (Not Connected) is printed wrongly....

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
Can someone tell me where the V5 (pin 1) is going? I see my ping 8 is off too but that one is a NC.
All the other pins are fine (reaching the resistor and capacitors.
Any help will be more than welcome.....

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
oh,, so cool, I don´t have a hot gun and I ended cutting the pins (crazy I know).
but one of the point went off.. So I am quite screw now (not the ability or the microscope to find out where that ping is going... ;(...

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
It finally arrived, the chips.. but I have several issue desoldering the old ones
I believe I am not skilled enough. I have one tiny soldering unit (60w) and I haven´t been able to take one pin.... I started with 300º but not even at 400º.. using one of those flat tiny tips.
right now, every time there is a power outrage, the monitor stops workings for a day or two.. after that, plugin the power cord it works again.
Will try again desoldering.. any tip?

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
ah, ok thanks.
But that issue with the regulator will resolve my issue? or a chance of? It seems very weird to turn on only 1/3.
And did you change it? But I am sure your are not hotting it up manually every time your unplug it
I checked the numbers and in my case it is: M193 966A-25 and M193 G66A-25 (this one I am not sure about the G because it is quite blury) the nearest to the power connector...Last edited by willthrom; 01-13-2021, 06:16 AM.

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
Thanks
this morning when I plugged in, didn't work.
Then I start opening and check the switch as before it was not working very well. I disconnect the switch/board (with all the buttons).. plug-in it.. and it worked.
Then.. remove cord, plug cord, not working again,,, remove/plug again, it turns on.. This cycle turn the monitor on 1 or 3 or so.
I open fully open the monitor and nothing seems broken.
I cannot find the regulator G966A (so-8), I might be blind.......Last edited by willthrom; 01-13-2021, 05:42 AM.

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
In my case I can hear windows detecting the monitor but it doesn't turn on.
In the Device Manager the Monitor is there, so somehow power is reaching...
For the last 8 month I never switch it off.. just leave it until it got into standby with PC is off.
I remember the switch button was not working very well either before...

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
[QUOTE=pixk;1013956]Thank you!
I will check the both G966A (I204 / I207).
For the BIOS file it's the I403 (MX25L1605DM2I-12G-GP) do you confirm ?
Mine is labeled "E6BF" :
any luck?Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power

Re: ACER GD245HQ totally dead no power
Hi,
What do you mean with "Heats up".
Every time I unplug the cord (not very often) the monitor doesn't turn up.
No blue led on near the switch, no image, not backlittle.
Normally it recovers after some time restarting the computer, but not this time (or I haven´t waited enough).
Any suggestion?
Thanks, much appreciated...
