  • is my cpu shorted? or is this normal?

is it right that LOADS of the caps located directly underneath an i3 processor (on the other side of the board) have only about 1.5ohm resistance to ground.
The laptop is completely dead (no LED's... nothing).

I've heard that some processors automatically short to ground when the power is removed in order to drive out any static charge that may otherwise be lingering inside.

If this is the case though surely there would be a dead 0 ohm short.

the laptop does not power up by the way. no LED's... nothing
it is a Lenovo ideapad 330s...

  • could anybody identify this chip?

    hi
I'm trying to identify the chip in the middle of this photo (link below). the one that is marked: 48=4L M03

It's located right next the the dcin on a dell p75F motherboard. The laptop wouldn't post but it was getting power. The fan would switch on for a few seconds and then the whole unit would die. I was also getting various power rails online around the board when i checked at the coils and various caps.

However, when I was checking voltages on components around the DC input area i decided to check the pins on this chip. and suddenly the laptop came on. it...

it's okay i paid for them...
The boardview is only pdf which is a little disappointing but it'll do the job.
i've uploaded them (both boardview and schematic) to my google drive.
here's the links... in case anyone needs them ...

I'm also looking for both. I need them for a job I'm doing next weekend. I've found a website that I can buy them for about £9 (GBP) so if I can't find them elsewhere I'll just pay for them ad then I'll post them on here.
