Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
changed out all of the caps on the input board and all of the lelon caps on power board. All caps on both boards are now high quality japan caps.
They did not measure terrible, worst was ca 15% off in capacitance

Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
It works 100% if warm. Only cold start from standby or completely off takes ages with relay clicking etc.
After changing out caps I get picture after fewer relay clicks, but it turns on with some static on half the screen and then relay clicks off and on a few more times before it works.

Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
Changed out all the caps on input board, it helped a tiny bit.
Noticed that the transformer circled is making noise. After the relay clicks on and off the sound goes up and down, else is a constant buzz.
What should I do next? .....

Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
The voltage I have tested on the power board looks good, error code seems to link to the PNX8535 on the other board. So why not?
After pushing a bit on the top of the 450v cap I am even more sure I feel a bulge. It seems the board gets AC from the power board via 1P02 as far as I understand.

Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
Tried some more, and got some error code blinking. 5 long red and 3 short.
That mans: PNX 8535 doesn't boot (SW cause) from the manual.
Could it be that the problem is on the other main board?
7 lelon caps on the board. The big one is maybe a little suspect, can feel a tiny bit of bulging. I have ordered replacement 450v 68uf....

Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
TV wont go into stanby now. When I put in the power cord it goes directly into blue light. It starts clicking and after a few minutes it goes completely off with no light, so that's new.
Measured 5V2 and 12V on 1P11 and they where stable and good.

Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
Still same problem after replacing some small caps.
Circled the relay that's clicking when TV is trying to start.
Found a PDF with some diagrams etc.
https://mega.nz/#!bRFhzIZZ!7S2X77zwlOV17nUFtNdaRJfPcnuoL4mw_FoDsimmNyc (too big to upload) Diagrams from pg. 58
Could it be the relay that is going bad, or some other component?
Tried to touch up some solder joints etc too, but no change.
The solder pads is breaking off super easy, but easy to follow the traces with a flashlight...

Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
So I removed a 50v 10uf lelon cap next. It measured an ESR of 6.3!
I have a 50v 22uf FM. That is an ok replacement?

Re: Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
Back home..
Removed one 1000uf 25v cap. Measured 904uf, ESR: 0.31, Vloss 1.6%
Most of the caps on the board is rubycon and nichicon, but this was a lelon.
Could this be the bad cap?
Going to replace it with a Panasonic FM.

Philips 42PFL9732D slow startup
Hi.
My Philips TV is very slow to turn on. When I first try to turn it on the light turns to blue (on) with no picture. I hear several double clicks (relay?), and after a few minutes it goes back to standby. If I try to turn it on again it usually works and I get picture etc.
It has gotten a little harder and slower to turn on lately so I figured it was time to try to fix it now. So I opend it up hoping it was just some obviously bad caps to replace, but I did not find any..
So whats going on? Where should I look now?
The only thing I could see possibly...

Re: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead
Finally got some replacement ic901. It was almost impossible to remove without a heat gun as it had a lot of glue underneath. Finally got it off, but managed to destroy pad nr 7. Looked at the service manual. (page 24, LD7552)
Where should I solder a wire from pin7 too? D904?

Re: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead
with a working fuse I get ca 330v on the filter cap, but the board does not work..

Re: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead
ok. looked at the service manual etc. and did some more tests…
Tested the bridge rectifier in circuit and it looked bad, desolderd it and now it looked ok.
So then I desolderd the fuse and it looks blown after testing with multimeter.
The fuse is a 2A 250V WICKMANN. It's not very available so can this http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pcs-Thermal-Fuse-102-C-115-C-130-C-Voltage-250V-Current-2A-Case-M33-/182149262800?var=&hash=item2a68f12dd0:m:mWIKs-PxH6yBxEj23DNQy5g work?
This is the datasheet on original...Last edited by tiltkoko; 03-09-2017, 08:33 PM.

Re: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead
right after I put AC on I can measure under 1v, but its climbing pretty fast. Then it slows down and eventually it takes 3sec between 18.53-18.54 etc..

Re: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead
Finally got the mosfet today. Tried plugging it in, but would not turn on (no led light). Measured the voltage on the big filter cap soon after pluging in AC and got 5v and climbing slowly up. (1v every 2-3 sec)
Service manual at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/802004/Lenovo-9220-Hb1.htmlRe: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead

Re: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead
yes, mosfet and 0.3 resistor was bad after testing with multimeter. 100k ohm resistor seems ok. waiting for parts now

Re: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead
My multimeter is not at home, so must test tomorrow.
The resistor in shrink tube 100k ohm. The one capacitor that was pushed down and I have not replaced before is 50v 22uf. Thinking of replacing that with Panasonic FM and main with Rubycon TXW. Sounds ok?
will test more tomorrow.

something like this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/3pcs-450V150uF-450V-18X45mm-TXW-Rubycon-longlife-miniature-Capacitor-/281962349015?hash=item41a64401d7:g:Je0AAOSwZ8ZW4n6XRe: Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead<...Z8ZW4n6X

Lenovo ThinkVision L201p - Dead
Hei
Today my screen started flickering, thinking maybe the power cord was coming loose I tried to push at it and then I heard a small bang and the display went completely dead. I opened it and found the 450v capacitor with one leg blown. I replaced the 5 other caps a few years ago.
So is all i need to do is replace the 450v? or is it something else too that needs to be fixed?
Can you recommend a 450v 150uf capacitor to buy?...
