Re: DELL Latitude 14 Rugged Extreme 7404
Ok, so I managed to get one of the 7404s working. The procedure should be exactly the same on the others.
I put the steps on here. It might help somebody.
I haven't tested the laptop a lot yet but it's currently installing Ubuntu Studio 20.10 and so far so good.
-----------------
- Downloaded Dell Bios A16 for 7404 (It worked fine on A16 before upgrading to A17)
- Extracted data from A16 using Dell_PFS_Extract.py ( https://github.com/vuquangtrong/Dell-PFS-BIOS-Assembler )
- De-soldered...

Re: DELL Latitude 14 Rugged Extreme 7404
Cannot post them as they seem to contain company internal FQDNs.
Managed to load them up in Flash Image Tool 9.5.x after concatinating the two files together.
Will post more another day.
Thank you!

DELL Latitude 14 Rugged Extreme 7404
Got a few dead 7404s.
They all died roughly 24hrs after updating to A17.
Took one apart, removed the two flash chips and read them.
I also binwalked the Dell EXE update file for A17 and found the exact same binary blobs inside it as my dumped bins. I just have no idea how to re-assemble to a good file. Maybe there are some instructions on the forums that I haven't found yet.
If I can manage to find a working one, can I just do the same and overwrite the "bad" versions? ... or perhaps somebody has a known good bios dump...
ME-clean might me...
