ASUS UX435EG BIOS/EC contect

    Hey,
I'm trying to find the contects of the memory in the picture. P/N is winbond W25Q128JVPIQ, packge is WSON8. It is located near the EC chip (IT5125VG-128). Not sure if it's the bios memory. There are some more SPI flash ICs on this board.

  • OK so I made some more testing, found a SPI flash IC that gets really warm, not looking natural to me. P/N is winbond W25Q128JVPIQ, packge is WSON8. It is located near the EC chip (IT5125VG-128). Not sure if it's the bios memory. There are some more SPI flash ICs on this board but they don't get warm. Measuring voltage on pin8 (VCC) is 3.07V. I think he's stressing some LDO...

  • I think you should verify that there is input voltage for every buck input. Most likely it will 😭
I also think your EC chip is gone. This is also the problem in a laptop I'm trying to repair. Main voltage present and also 3.3V and 5V. No shorts anywhere. I saw sorin from YouTube trying to fix a problem like this and he couldn't do it. He Replaced the EC chip and reprogrammiled it but still no luck. I hope you'll fix yours. Maybe flashing the bios memory chip with external programmer may help, but I'm not sure.
Try to look for your EC chip in Google and check if someone really succeed...

  • I would try taking it out with hot air and then clean the pads. You may also try to connect the reset signal to GND bit I you need to find some kind of resistor on the board so you will something to solder to (and I'm not sure there is something like that, it might be connected straight to the cpu)...

  • Probably not the issue but what about the main power rail? Does is shows in every input for the regulators? (on the input capacitors)...

  • Adding some more test since I cannot find edit button

This board uses 2 type C connectors for charge (both have lighting symbol on them)

Upper port shows 19V 0.52A with TYPE C tester (added pic)

The second port shows 0V 0A (added pic), and I can see someone has been adding one Bodge wire to the connector and one of components on the board (resistor)
I cannot see any more repair attempts on this board, but I cannot assure you there are not any.
    Thanks

  • Any change to get Asus UX435EG schematics?

    Hey,
I'm new to this awesome forum, seems like a very nice place to get help repair electronics.
I'm trying for tix a dead motherboard of Asus UX435EG. Can't find any shorts on the boards, and the only voltages I get are 8.3V, 19V, 3.4V, 5V. Maybe someone have an idea how to get the schematic of this board? I found vinafix but they need paid user. All I could find was this picture from some Russian forum and a picture of board view.
    Thanks for any help
