Can't find any edit anywhere, so I'll just leave it at that I guess

But I said so earlier... but I cam summarize if you want.
The problem was fixed by installing the update that Philips gave us. For god knows what reason it only worked with the third USB stick, despite all of those have same specs (besides the last one being a bit larger).
As I said it came back once, I installed the update again, reset to factory settings (service mode had no special reset), update with newest drivers from the web (this is maybe new information) and since then haven't had any problems.

I mean, my TV works, so my problems are solved, right? I'd just want to update the thread title to reflect that.

Still no issues coming up now. I would like to change the thread to say it's solved but I can't seem to figure out where to do that

I'll try to figure out how to do get into factory mode, do a reset and see how long that lasts. Thanks everyone!

Nevermind, I put the backplate on again, fastened all screws and plugged in my Switch to check that everything works. And the problem came back in the exact same way.
Installing the firmware via patch worked again, but I don't trust this working for a longer period. Could the memory on the mainboard be broken?

Welp, I feel like an idiot now. Tried their firmware update with two different USB sticks before and it didn't work, now with the third one it actually did. I don't get why that matters, all the USB sticks are USB 2.0 and have only differing sizes. But oh well, sometimes things don't go as I would like.

Thanks y'all for pushing me to try that and for all your input. I'm slightly disappointed I didn't get to fiddle with the power supply board, but I guess this is technically better.

Thank you everyone!

EDIT: I tried...

I just put in new batteries last week. The measurement confused me as well, but I did it a couple times with the same results.

I can redo them once I tried updating the firmware. What I just realized being a bit weird is that the update files I got from Philips support are quite different from what I find on their website. Idk if maybe I should try the one from their website instead of the one I got.

STBY drops to zero with any amount of boards connected/disconnected, so also with nothing connected.

All 12V pins show 12V to ground.

The T-CON board fuse has 12V to ground on both sides, ~3kOhm resistance to ground. Is not blown.

I'll give it another try to install the firmware that Philips gave. I'll use a different USB stick this time, because I can't really figure out what other variables ther would be involved.

Yeah, I said in the post above that I realized which one you meant, my bad I'll measure that soon....

• Re: Philips 55PUS6162/12

I will do another set of measurements soon. I think I figured out what the T-CON fuse is (mentioned in a post #9) and will re-check standby voltage. But last time I checked as I explained in the OP I removed both backlight and mainboard from the power supply board and still had the dropping standby voltage. All this assumes that the 3.5V pin really is for the standby voltage, which I have neither gotten approval for nor denial ...

What's the T-CON fuse F? I don't see any fuse on the T-CON board...

Okej, good that that's obvious to you because it isn't to me ^^'
I'll check if I can find on of those adapters and see if I can find the connection on the service manual.

I'm also curious how my measurements of the dropping voltage fits into the picture, if this is a mainboard failure?...

Like I said, Philips gave me an update pkg file and I tried installing that (according to their instructions) but it didn't seem to make any difference. I could try again for good measure, but I doubt we did anything wrong.
I also have no idea how I would be able to see the log from my PC. Can't see any instructions in the service manual. Is there a guide somewhere on the forums?

Also, I'm curious to understand what made you make the conclusion that this is a mainboard issue (if you have the patience to explain that)?...

So should I test all those connectors (besides ground I guess) when the TV is plugged (or for the back ones I guess only when the board is plugged in)?

EDIT: I'm asking because I would usually read that I should measure the standby voltage and that must be the 3.5V pin, right? And that is already screwed from my measurements.
Also I have a kind of crappy multimeter, so I am a bit scared to measure the other pins because it would be easy to short them accidentally ^^'...

• Philips 55PUS6162/12

Overnight our Philips TV (55PUS6162/12) started behaving badly.

Unfortunately I'm quite the newbie with this stuff, so I am a bit uncertain what to do, but I detailed everything I've observed and done based on various guides I found on the internet. I also read the "Basic troubleshooting guide" from here, but it seems already not basic enough for me, besides confirming my suspicion that the power supply board is at fault.

When plugging the TV in it turns on by itself. But only the...

12 thousand pages, that's impressive. Curious if anyone reads these.. Either way..
I'm Malacath, some people can't be bothered to write all that out and just say Mal.
Got a broken TV and I felt this was a good time to learn a bit more about electronics than what I know. In my search for an active forum I stumbled on this one, looks very promising. I hope I can get some support here.
