  • Re: Dell W1700 LCD Rev00

    the link if for
"Global Sources for Aluminium Electrolytic Radial Capacitors"
i know that these companies carry more that just caps. i have searched there wedsites and cat. only to come up short. i have looked for a manufacture with a capital 'A' in the circls, nothing. i have asked the sellers of the boards of they could help, nothing.
i won't give up just yet but i can see how a link to digikey ect. is going to help.

i don't know if they can be found/crossreferenced. i have look and nothing. no data sheets either. maybe it could be a generic one but how wants to do the trial and error associated with finding the right one. a schematic would help. if current values were know, a suitable replacement could be substituted. an electrical engineer could figure it out.

    Mario
can you look at the transistors Q 80 81 40 41 on the new board when it comes in and tell me what the markings are? the company that sells it says that they have a better version and that it should last a good while. i am wondering if they replaced the transisters as a precaution.

    thanks

you stated that your board had buldging caps. this is different that the board i had, the caps on my boaed were not buldging at all. so the caps and fuses replacement should be all this board needs. if no one wants it , i will get it from you. the connector shouldn't be much of an issue. could you post a pic of it?

also , i am glad that we all are working together on this......

    thanks

not sure if ther are mosfets......

the manu facture has a symbol like this @ only the a is a capital A.
there are a few more #'s too
the stamp on the chip is listed below. there are no markings under the chip.
also the company that sales the replacement has a better rev. so i would bet that they know the part # that works.

transistors are used. but the IC type instead of the norm.
    the 4 8-pinned ic's are Q80 Q81, Q40, and Q41.
the manufacture is an "A" with the circle around it .like "@" only captial.
    the markings are
    @ 4600
    BD313K

i believe that this is the problem. i have searched the interweb to no avail for the description #. if i could find the manu. with that @ symbol, it would help a lot.

they are the 4 8-pinned ic's near the caps

i have been looking for those specific driver via the marking on the chips. i have had no luck. if i had a diagram of the ic, i could find the right sub for it.
so this is where i am stuck. if someone has a source that could match the markings on the ic, it would help .

thanks to everyone who has had input.

    schnipke
what is the part# from radio shack for the caps?

    i bought mine from mouser
    Xicon low ESR Radial Electrolytic,
    25v 220uf 105c.

i really don't see why my board repair failed but i have to keep trying.

    he's dead jim,
i didn't know that there was a schematic for it. can you post or send me a copy? i should be able to get it with that.

i have had a few emails from people wanting to get their board fixed, i can't do it until i know all of...

they are coils. they may have some markings on them , not sure. a mouser catalog will do you good, it will do all of you repairing guys some good.....

so, i changed my fuses and caps today..... the fuses blew again .... so i have to find the cause of the current surge. i will take another look tomorrow and i will order the parts.
i will let you know. i have an idea what is causing the issue but i could be 100% sure if i have a working board.....

    fuses?

where can i/we ge the fuses and does anyone know the amperage?

they have a NF silkscreened across them. i would think Nano fuse but , i am just pulling straws out of a hat. that fuses short to the caps so if the fuse is blown, the cap should be replaced anyway.

o yeah, i'm dave, new to the forum and i am trying to fix a display for a family member.
