
You can shine a flashlight at the screen to see a very dim display, so I figure the power board and logic board are working correctly. Thus, I took the monitor apart and inspected the inverter board. Sure enough, the inverter board looks like it has suffered some damage. You can very clearly see this at Q6 as it looks like the MOSFET leaked some black substance.
Based on what you see, would it be worth pursuing this DIY repair with a 60-70 dollar budget and no tools (multimeter/soldering...
