UPDATE:
I've removed the board and checked the bottom of it to find some serious burns to the bottom of Q808 Q809 so bad the copper has started to lift from the board and is a bit weak.
What is the soloution to this problem? Ablob of solder? or some wire? if so what type wire?

Hi, I have read all of the threads here already regarding HP 1955 but I am still little unclear. First of all the details:
[B]Monitor:[/B] HP L1955
[B]Board:[/B] BenQ 48.L1A02.A31 / PD974
[B]Problem:[/B] The monitor (when on standby) would hum/buz around the inverter area but worked fine untill one day had plenty of smoke and then a bang and dead.. i havn't turned it on since.
[B]Current Situation:[/B] 7th March 2011 - I have opened it up to find some serious burnouts on:
[B]Q808, Q809, Q805, C824[/B]
However the 5A fuse is fine on PF701
...
