replied to Dell 8FC8 Bios Password Patcher
    Flea et al.
I've hoped to find a tool to put a Dell BIOS back into service mode for at least a decade.
I have to say I think the last one the old Dell SVS Tag utility worked for was the D600.
Can I use this patcher on anything locked or not, regardless of the suffix?
If not, would changing those hex strings in the method described work on a wide range of current Dell boards (say 7th Gen CPU and newer?)
What would be absolutely fantastic is if I could make a generic or model-based flash utility to revert the BIOS to service mode like we could with the old TR4 BIOS...

  • HP 745 G5 MS Autopilot Enrollment - Clean EC?

I recently purchased a small batch of 10 HP 745 G5 notebooks; it looks like some weren't removed from the remote management when they were decommissioned, and they want to enroll with the corporate domain when Windows OOBE starts.
I really don't know if it's Intune, autopilot, or what, but during Oobe, it requires me to log into the company domain.
Since I have some that are clear and some that are managed, can I re-program the BIOS and EC chips of the locked ones with unlocked ones?
Rewrite the SN with DMFit or???
I can probably send the serial numbers to my guy,...

I can probably send the serial numbers to my guy, who can go back to his vendor, who can go back to the company, but for a handful of old notebooks that aren't even Win11 certified,...

Re: Macbook M1 bypass FMM / EFI Unlock

I've got a couple of bypassed T2s and one that won't unlock due to it having Monteray on it.
I also have a water-damaged M1 that won't charge its battery, and it doesn't seem to have sound but other than that, it's running fine and an identical locked M1 that someone could probably make an easy repair of.

That 'method' in the video is just little-known Apple IT stuff that's been online for years. (shift control option command right period)
    You're entering recoverydiagnose for debugging.
Fun to play with, but not exactly secret.

There are Bluetooth sniffers. Getting it's address should be as easy as the wifi one.

started a topic M1 Macbook Air no FMI

    M1 Macbook Air no FMI

I have an M1 here that is file vault locked, it has an unknown user password, it is not MDM supervised, and FMI is not on.
According to the recovery screen, it is attached to an iCloud account.
I know the full email address of the cloud account, but messages to the user have gone unanswered.
Since I only see machines once they're activation locked, I'm not sure if I can erase this machine or not.
Will it be activation locked if I do a DFI recovery? a DFI restore, or if I just erase the machine from recovery.
    It's running 12.0.1
    If I do a Configurator2...

I have one M1 that is file vault locked, it's attached to an iCloud account, but it is not reported lost or remotely managed.
I also have one that is activation-locked due to it being erased. (not reported lost)
So far, I have not been able to get either one to boot from an external drive.
Both machines belong to a client that was allowing sales staff unfettered access to company-owned devices.
Unfortunately, he purchased both machines used on the secondary market, and Apple will not accept his proof...
