The voltages out of the suppy.

The 5v supply was reading 5v.

Both the 12v seemed to vary from 10.92v up to 17.13v with each power cycle. Voltage also seemed stable at whatever they were at the time. EG if it read 10.92v it stayed at that. Pull the power cord out and plug back in resulted in a different voltage.

When I plug in the power the green LED lights up very briefly, less than a second like a flash. The speakers also make a pop sound when plugging into the power outlet.

I dont have a multimeter yet. Getting one tomorrow from wallmart.

Either an Equus 3300 Hands free Digital Multimeter or the Equus 3320 Innova Auto Ranging Digital Multimeter.

So will test the power output then.

My brother has had this TV for some time and it was working fine until he decided to get into computing.

I bought him a computer at auction, tested said computer and installed Ubuntu onto it.

The display worked fine for about a week. He wanted to watch tv the next day and tried to turn it on with the remote. Nothing happened. Pressing the power button results in the same thing, nothing.

The tv was turned off when the computer shut down. That is, the computer shutting down turned off the monitor.
