@Scenic: Thanks a lot for the service manual! I will take a deeper look into it before I start to open up the case of my 240T.

@all: I not yet dared to open up my case, but as soon as I will do so, I will take pictures of the suspicious parts of the pcb´s, of course. I don´t know whether I will already have time for it on upcoming weekend. But I will definitely keep you informed.

@retiredcaps: First, thanks for your advice regarding taking photos. I have to admit that I did not yet open up the case of the affected monitor. Unfortunately, I even would have to organize a new digicam, since my old cam from 1999 would definitely not be able to take sufficiently clear and crisp macro photos of the pcb´s in acceptable quality and resolution.

Well, I thought that anyone here might already have had such a '10-sec-backlight-flickering-problem' with his or her Samsung 240T monitor when turning it on. It...

Hi there,

I have a Samsung 240T which I bought back in June 2002. When powering up the monitor the backlight comes on, flickers for about 10 seconds and then finally stabilizes. I assume that the inverter pcb will soon die. Umpf. Unfortunately I don´t have any service manual for this monitor. So, which caps of the inverter pcb should I look for and exchange to get the problem fixed?
