@FriedFred; a point to note is that when I stay in BIOS, the system doesn't restart, but as soon as it tries loading windows, it gives the WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR. This is so worrisome to me. -

@FriedFred; the laptop enters BIOS on pressing F2, and memory and HDD tests passed. I noticed that each time the laptop is powered on from its power button, it runs for few seconds and restarts on its own. The laptop is an AMD processor.Leave a comment:

@mcplslg123; Most coils have their voltages except one 1R5 coil, which was supposed to have 1.5v or so but had a very weird 58.6v when probed with a multimetre. The said coil is close to RAM connector.Leave a comment:

with LCD connected: @20 ohm meter range - 984; @20K ohm meter range - 4.80; @200K ohm meter range - 5.2; @2000K ohm meter range - 003;

WHEA UNCORRETABLE ERROR on HP 6735s HELP!!!
Hello Techs, I have tried changing RAM, hard disk, power supply, but WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR still persists. What I have not done is BIOS update, but I reset BIOS to Default settings. -
SHORT ON +3VLCD_CON (NO +3V) - HP COMPAQ G61
Please, see attached schematic and help me find solution to this HP COMPAQ G61, which has no display on both LCD and CRT. Thank you.

The new measurements are of the part that is on the table (mosfet). The PCB pads still read source and drain = 0001

Please, how can I diagnose this laptop which has been tested with best of battery, charger and still, it doesn't charge. How do I test with multimetre to troubleshoot if it is charging IC. Thanks. -

replaced it with same part # from another board
resistance to ground for parts observed to be shorting
metre @ 200 ohms
Q49 = 16.2
C290 = 16.9
C291 = 16.7
Q51 = 16.5
C336 = 17.9

@ mon2. While diagnosing this board yesterday, I suddenly discovered a burn on Q43. So, I found a replacement for it. After that, I also discovered shorts on Q49, C290, C291, and C336. What have I done wrong? See the attached picture of the board....Leave a comment:

@ mon2. I discovered 3.8v and 5.6v around this U28. What could be causing it? Also, most of the caps, coils and the likes around ICH are shorting on test with metre. Could the SIO be bad?Leave a comment:

metre readings @ 2000 ohm setting
pin 19 = 811
pin 21 = 793
