Re: HP Compaq 6510B inventec Rev 1.0 - U28 IC GETTING HOT
The new measurements are of the part that is on the table (mosfet). The PCB pads still read source and drain = 0001
source and gate = 1558
gate and drain = 438

Re: HP Compaq 6510B inventec Rev 1.0 - U28 IC GETTING HOT
@ mon2. While diagnosing this board yesterday, I suddenly discovered a burn on Q43. So, I found a replacement for it. After that, I also discovered shorts on Q49, C290, C291, and C336. What have I done wrong? See the attached picture of the board....

Re: HELP: Dell Latitude D620 Compal LA-2791 Rev 1.0 UMA not powering
@SMDFlea & @harshana: I could not find any dot on the PU3. Instead, I discovered that there was a dot on the board signifying pin 1. In the course of my investigations on PU3, pins 7, 9 and few others before pin 14 shorted to ground. I also discovered that on the pins configuration image sent by SMDFlea, GND is on pin 23. I'm confused, someone please help me!

MY METRE IN RESISTANCE MODE
check: resistance to ground
PQ4
@200 OHM; pins (1,2,3) = 1.3ohm each
@2000ohm; pins (1,2,3) = 1ohm (001 on metre)
@20k ohm; pins (1,2,3) = 0.01 ohm each
@200k ohm; pins (1,2,3) = 00.0 ohm each
@2000k ohm; pins (1,2,3) = 000 ohm each
PQ7
@200 ohm; pins (5,6,7,8) = no reading
@2000 ohm; pins (5,6,7,8) = 511
@20k ohm; pins (5,6,7,8) = no reading
@200k ohm; pins (5,6,7,8)...

Re: Hp compaq nc6400 hatoo la-2951p power issue
@MON2
readings on metre
@200 ohm, 2000 ohm & 20k ohm, no reading between source and drain pins.
@200k ohm; (1,2,3) and (5,6,7,8) = 69.8
@2000k ohm (1,2,3) and (5,6,7,8) = 69
@2000k ohm (4) and (5,6,7,8) = 271.
I had replica MOSFETS which I used in replacing PQ3 and PQ4, yet, no results (still very hot).
No voltages on ACDET (pin #26) and ACDRV# (pin #25)
After replacing PQ3 and PQ4, mosfets are still hot.
What else...
