Re: HPDMI unable to add SN after flashing BIOS
So to answer my own question in case it helps someone else. Yes
Copied over block from ec000 and ec800 and flashing it restored back logo and hardware info.

Re: HPDMI unable to add SN after flashing BIOS
Comparing the two BIOSes in hexplorer. In the original, the only place I see the serial number/SKU mentioned is in a little island of text starting at position ec000h in a huge sea of "FF". While ec000h in the NWL modded bios is all FF at the position. Would copying that block of text over to that position work?

Here's backup of original.
It's older 361A0 F12 version so missing some bug fixes compared to F15 and will not boot with 104 error due to new wifi card.

HPDMI unable to add SN after flashing BIOS
Hi all
I have an old HP Mini 1000 series netbook that I occasionally still use. I got a newer wifi card upgrade from an old junk laptop that was being tossed. I had to update the BIOS with a modded one to bypass a wifi whitelist check.
Windows itself works ok, but when I try to add the model/SN/etc... with HPBQ193 (NbDmiFit_1.14B.zip USB boot with DOS) it does not save it to the EEPROM. The ESCD.dat file is created, says its saved, but as soon as you exit the app and start hpbq again all the info is gone.
I dont know the policy of linking to other sites,...
