Re: VIZIO VO42L No picture, No Sound



Almost exact same date as mine went out, I purchased July 22 2008. It was my slave inverter board too, it whined like a stuck pig for 3 months before croaking. Makes me think Vizio knows they're selling garbage.

As Crappy said, I was told by concierge the 3rd year warranty is only added if you bought with AMEX....

Problem started as TV was emitting a loud constant squealing sound when on. Found an apparently temp fix, turn blacklight up to 100 and the squeal would stop. When I'd power on the TV I'd hear the squealing for about 2 seconds when the picture came up the squeal would stop and everything was seemingly normal. Now 3 months later, I power on the TV get white Vizio light, squeal start/stop, picture, squeal start/stop again and then picture goes out, Audio works just fine, white Vizio stays on.
