  • Alienware 13 R2 - plugged in,wont charge >13%

    Hi All,

I have an Alienware 13 R2 that I removed a shorted capacitor from that also had a bad battery.

I replaced the battery and the machine works well apart from it not charging the battery.

The icon shows the battery as charging when the adapter (original, Tested and working ok 130W) but it wont increase from 13%.

Ive checked the Bios which show battery health as OK
I've checked Alienware diagnostics which shows the new battery as having 97% health and working OK.

Updated the bios (currently running 1.13.1)....

  • Hp spectre x360 orientation sensor

    Hi all,
I have rebuilt a HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-4112TU and done a full win 10 reinstall. Ive also installed all the relevant hp drivers and have everything working well but I can't get the screen orientation to work automatically. I've tried all sorts of tricks with drivers and regedits to get it to work but no luck.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Cheers

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hey I'm Bear,

My normal gig has nothing to do with repairs but infatuations will be.

I dismantled and reassembled my fathers watch when I was 8 and was hooked with micro repairs.

My first machine was a Commodore 64 (just to show how long ago it was when I was 8). I dismantled my first laptop in 2007 and haven't looked back.

I've started to look at doing some MoBo repairs and this looks like a fantastic resource.

    Cheers
