and by the way I did some testing of IC101 (200a6.pdf) and when I measure pin 6 i believe the Vcc pin I get around 10v, now if I read the data sheet right for this IC then I have to get aboive 11 or 12 for it to turn on other systems, is this correct?

I thought about it, but the other thread is 3 pages long, and I like most others dont want to read 3 pages just to find out im still at ground zero.
But if anyone has any info, or a thread, on how to test mosfets or inverter transformers it would be greatly appreciated.Leave a comment:

Ok so I am back to trying to fix this gateway monitor that carries a infamously bad repair rep. Lets see if some of the intelligent minds here can help me put the pieces together.
Symptoms(objective): Plugging into the wall, led light shines blue
Led light shinning>plug in vga from pc native>no picture
Unplug vga from monitor> no "no signal" sign
Press Power Button (i.e. LED Button)>no response/does not turn off
Plug vga back in and shine flashlight into lcd> no picture
Force turn off by unplugging power manually

OK I measured the output voltages and the volt regulators on the main and video board, they seem to be within normal limits ( 12v puts out 12.21v and 5vs put out 5.08v on main and regs show rated regulation, so why is this moniker still not even showing a logo screen, or turning off and on. Should I check diodes and transistors and if so how?Leave a comment:

Still get no visual on screen, tried replacing caps on video board, 3 470uf 16 with some used saxmon 470 25v ( not sure if the saxmons work) and received the same results.Leave a comment:

To answer your question, no I cannot turn the blue led off and on, via power switch( the led is embedded in power switch) whether lcd ribbon and cffl connectors are connected or not.Leave a comment:

I havent replaced the caps on the video board and I have some Saxmon 470uf 25v's i can put on to test that I stripped of another moniter, the ones I would be replacing are 470uf 16v and I cant tell who makes them but there logo is and H and it green with black strip.Leave a comment:

], I typed U16 in for U15 and vis versa
the correct mes are
Reg1 = 3.29
U15=3.27

Yes there is a VR above C100 (called Reg 1) and its got a capacitor soldered to it, dosnt look manufacture installed. Anyway I measured the measurements by A= top and bottom B=Bottom and Middle C= Middle and Top prongs on the regs.
Reg1 A=5.08V B=3.29v C=1.795v
U15 A=3.27v B=1.803v C=1.472v
U16 A=5.08v B=3.29v C=1.795v

HI, I recently came into ownership of this Gateway 2185w lcd monitor and it did not work when I got it. When I plug it in I get a constant blue power light like my other gateway but I get no picture and unlike my gateway fpd1975w I cannot press this power button and get the blue light to turn on and off.
