  • Re: 12V 2A battery charger/maintainer

i've bought dozens of cheap chargers and tenders, took them apart and reversed the circuits. i found one at HF that had a wrong value resistor that caused my truck battery to boil out acid from charging at 15.5V..yikes!

Then i moved up to the next price level and tested some more. The best i found is the Yuasa 1A smart charger sold at motorcycle shops for about $40. Yuasa makes more lead acid motorcycle batteries than anyone, it is the OEM in most motorcycles.

It will work in a car to desulfate the plates but takes...

  • Re: Samsung LN32B360C5DUZA LN32B360C5D White Screen

i was searching for this chip and found the posting. From what i can find the i7824DA is a quad op amp, equiv part with datasheet: EC5564.

Does the inductor LP1 look soldered on correctly? i guess it must be since he got it working again.

  • Re: Vizio VW37 Power Supply PSON working but no 12v or 24v output

i was going to edit and add a note about identifying pin 1 of the DL001D chip that has no notch as shown in the picture in post #6 on page 1: pin 13 is nc, so looking at the board layout you can see the absence of any trace to that pin (it is silk screened with a fat white band).

On a different Delta power supply board that i have, the number 1 is silk screened next to pin 1 of the chip.

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

i have been troubleshooting and making repairs and reverse engineering circuits and firmware stuff since the '80s, e.g. Bosch Motronics, Allen-Bradley CNC and servo drives, HP Distance Measuring Interferometers, TCCH/Elcon Battery Chargers, Ryobi 40V BMS boards, Tesla CMU boards, Mitsubishi iMiev onboard chargers; Sony Panasonic, Samsung, Vizio TVs and audio amps, electric guitar pre-amps and pedals, etc.

There's always something that i don't know, which means there is something new to learn. Ain't life fun?

i enjoyed reading this old thread and i just registered so i could add a big thank you for all the troubleshooting hints and help from the experts. i remember Tom66 from the TMC forum while looking at the CMU board circuit on the Tesla battery modules. Now i see why he was so good there.

i was searching thru images for clues about the DEI DL001D chip and this thread caught my eye. What a great resource and wealth of information, especially when schematics are not available.
