  • Re: Capacitor Replacement: Advice Needed

For the 6.3v 3300uf HM series, I spotted a 6.3v 3300uf UHW series that matches the ohms and ripple current rating "close enough" but the 6.3v 1000uf UHW doesn't quite match the HM spec close enough. Are there any guides out there for replacing electrolytics with polymers? The values and specs to look out for. These 6.3v 1000uf caps aren't VRM caps. They're the ones I suspect that are on the 5v rail as there's 10+ of them on each board. The polymer caps I am looking at I'm not sure if they'd work as the spec on the datasheet says...

  • Capacitor Replacement: Advice Needed

So I have a couple motherboards I am recapping that I do not have capacitor replacements already in my used inventory. I am wondering which capacitors that are currently in production for 2022 that I can use to replace the following capacitors:

"SAM YOUNG" NXC series 6.3v 3300uf
    "Nichicon" HM series 6.3v 1000uf
    "Nichicon" HM series 6.3v 3300uf
    "United Chemi-Con" KZG series 6.3v 820uf
    "TK" ATWY series 6.3v 820uf

    Thanks!

Yes, they should be low-ESR as well. Most capacitors on motherboards are typically low-ESR.
