Re: LG 50PG3000 Plasma - No Display
Looks like I'm gonna have to retire this one. It appears to be beyond my diagnostic skills
Thanks for all the help guys!

Re: LG 50PG3000 Plasma - No Display
I think they're Brown / Black / Gold / Red
or possibly...Black / Red / Gold / Black but that doesnt seem to work either
The fact they're both reading roughly the same on the LCR tester makes me think they're ok

Re: LG 50PG3000 Plasma - No Display
apologies for the massive edit. I checked both VR502 and R513 with my LCR tester. Approx 1.34 ohm which I suspect is within range.
Or am I going nuts?? Should these be 10.4K? Any help greatly appreciated!
many thanks

Re: LG 50PG3000 Plasma - No Display
Hi
thanks for the info. The z-sus board looks fine, however y-sus board appears unhappy. There is less than 0.5V showing on both VSC and VY. So, you're certainly getting me in the right direction it would appear. Some of the resistors are showing different values than their banding but I'm guessing that is because they are still in circuit? None are showing open or dead short.
Further checks ongoing but I'm open to any suggestions

Re: LG 50PG3000 Plasma - No Display
In order to short out EXT_AUTO_GEN, should I solder in some headers or just bridge with solder and a piece of wire?

Re: LG 50PG3000 Plasma - No Display
Hi R_J
yeah, I've had a look at the other threads. Most with similar faults seem to point to the buffer boards. Yes, all fuses have been checked and are good.
Pics to follow in a bit

Re: LG 50PG3000 Plasma - No Display
Hi
Yes, meant the floating ground. The boards were out of circuit when tested.
The logic board has a green LED, I think it varies from blinking to static. Not sure how to check for -VY, VSCAN or VZB......but happy to try if you can point me in the right direction.
I'll give the main board a try in the morning. Should I disconnect all cables on the main board or just the LVDS?
thanks
Greg.

LG 50PG3000 Plasma - No Display
Hi guys
I'm having issues once more. This time with the set mentioned above. There is no display at all but I do have audio.
All fuses have been checked and are showing continuity as good
All Va and Vs voltages have been checked.
I replaced a couple of very unhappy caps on the PS board and the main Y board.
I have removed the Y buffer boards one at a time and no result. Also, when the boards were out, I checked for continuity between the ground connector and all the pins. No continuity showing, so all looks ok there.
Am I looking...

Re: Hisense UB50CE591
Jim
can you measure that resistance in circuit or did you de-solder?

Re: Hisense UB50CE591
Hi
I hadn't spotted the voltage quoted, so thanks for that. I'm gonna tear down the rest of this evening and I will report after that....

Thank you so much. I'll get some LEDs ordered in the morning...

Re: Hisense UB50CE591
I got this schematic from this site - it's not exactly the same, but it's pretty close. I thought the PS operated both LED strings separately, that's why i was getting different voltages....

Re: Hisense UB50CE591
Do you think one shorted and one open on different strings as the voltage is different?...

Re: Hisense UB50CE591
Voltage tested across the PS outputs both times at XP901. It's strange because when I swap the connectors around, you can't see the logo on startup, so that's why I was thinking maybe Power Supply.
Pic of the PSB attached. Really appreciate your help....

Hisense UB50CE591
Hi guys
I've been scouring the site looking for info on the above set. Here is my problem. The set powers up and you can see the Hisense logo followed by Smart. It's dim, but it's there. After that, the screen goes dark. I've checked the voltages on both LED connectors. One seems to hover around 120V until the power supply shuts down. The other is around 400V and then shuts down too.
Are your suspicions LEDs or a power supply/driver issue?
Appreciate any help you guys can give
thanks
greg.
