Well guys, three new boards and it still doesn't work. Im baffled. Book says I Should see test pattern but hasn't happened now with three different tcon boards. I get absolutely nothing with this newest mainboard - not even the USB lights up but the digital audio out does light up. Power won't come on and no display. So I might have a WORSE mainboard... Guys I'm about to pitch this thing in the trash- Seems wasteful but I have now tried two mainboards, three tconns and one power board. This power board scares the crap out of me as it clicks at odd times...

I just ordered three new boards (power, main and tcon). My wife and I are done with out bedroom being a workshop. Hopefully none of those parts are duds.Leave a comment:

I really don't know about the firmware. I tried renaming the file and letting it run last night and let it sit for hours to no noticeable improvement.
I am stuck. The more parts I add the worse it seems.
I am going to test power today I think that HAD to take a hit and its the only board I haven't replaced at this point
The directions I read said if I disconnect the main board from the TCON I should get a test pattern and I still didn't get that with my tcon or the new tcon so its getting worse not better.......Leave a comment:

Hey guys - got the new tcon. The tv is now flashing blue.
I see white backlighting but no image on the tv at all.

TV parts has it for $17.
I replaced the main but it isn't working because of the firmware.
One guy I talked to says those cables and tcon go bad all the time from lightning?

My assumption right now is that its the EOL's that took a little sizzle. The loop is reporting varying resistances. Sometimes its good other times its in trouble. Quite annoying. I had to disconnect it in the meantime until I get out there and replace the EOL resistor....Leave a comment:

Me too! We will see. Apparently the tcon is different for each model tv so hopefully, this gets me some image. I can't find the new cable set unfortunately and I don't have the dexterity to test each pin with a meter!...Leave a comment:

I did have a thumb drive with a light. It was just solid on. never blinking....
Sigh - tcon will be here in a few days. I don't need spare parts. I ordered another main board but then cancelled it. I think if the main board can't talk to the Tcon it can't know which TV it is to update?Leave a comment:

Right so since I didn't get the test patterns I have to assume the tcon board is dead too?

Someone provided me a tech manual. It said if I disconnect the Main board from the tcon it should display test patterns. It never did. I believe the Tcon is dead too?Leave a comment:

Yes the board(s) are both A2068024A but the numbers after are different. I don't know if the numbers after that are a serial number for the board or what...

no devices were ruined best I can tell. All connected was a receiver which I still get sound out of. I can't and don't see sony logo or anything.
I lost some IP cameras, an optisolator in between my house and outbuilding, and a couple EOL resistors on my alarm system.Leave a comment:

Hey guys, so I have this tv and we got a close-by lightning strike. I turned the tv on and no picture and got 3 blinking lights. Everything indicates a dead logic board. I replaced the main logic board with a new one and have a green amber light blink. Tv doesn't turn on automatically, I power it on and I get a white light on the indicator and then switches to the green and amber. The screen flashes white for a split second.
The green amber light indicates the firmware doesn't match the screen. I downloaded the proper firmware and put it on, now, 6 different thumb drives and plugged... -

Hey guys I am Neil from Naples Fl. I deal with a LOT of lighting. Someone recommended these forums to me because my Sony TV went bad along with several other things in the last storm! I hate lightning. After summer I squeeze my eyes shut and pray only a few things are destroyed
