Just a quick update.. I finally got all the parts needed and replaced the COSMO device, the Viper22a device and all the caps in the general area of the Viper22a. The unit now works properly and charges the batteries as it should. Thanks to everyone who helped me get through this!

The only board darkening is at the viper22. Anything else is just camera phone variations. Thank you though.

Can I assume that the caps in the vicinity of the viper22 are dedicated to the charging function? Or when you suggest replacing the small uf caps, you mean throughout the board? I think I would prefer to start with minimal replacement and work up from there if need be. Thanks for the input.

Hi all. I have a CyberPower 1500AVR that has stopped charging its batteries. I replaced the batteries thinking this was the issue as the originals were several years old but the new batteries are the same. With the unit on and the batteries connected, I read 20.5 volts at the battery connectors. Not sure if that is helpful or not. I assume this is just what's left in the batteries after having the unit powered on for a day or so. There are no signs of damage on the board aside from some slight heat blackening of red and black wires just above the viper22a ic. The two caps in the photo, circled...
