• Re: Hp Elitebook 820 g3 do not turn on /Please help/

    Hello,

thanks for the info. right now it is 2.3 volt, if i press it it goes down to 0. I will remove power button and see connector.

Also what you think why is my both bios (ec+main) has at pin 1 those voltage drops continuosly ? At pin 8 it is stabile 3,3 volts.

Does those small thick film resistors around bios chip can make problem like this voltage drops?

    Thanks...

    Additional info:

At power button switch only 2.1 volts measured (maybe 3.3 volts should be here?)

At EC bios pin 1 there is big continuos voltage drops too (from 0.5 - 3.3 volts), like at main bios pin 1 (2.85 - 3.33 volt), as i think those values at pin 1 should be 3.3 fix, right?

    Any idea please?

    Hello Forum Members!

    I have a Hp Elitebook 820 g3 ( mb: 6050a2892301-mb-a01).

The seller forgot to tell me it has a bios admin password set. LAter he could not remember... I found this forum and i planned i will do it myself with a ch341ai just purchased. Unfortunatelly laptop has a wson8 chip (no legs), a winbond 25q128fvpq bios chip.

Because i had no hot gun to take out wson8 chip, i used my cheap soldering iron and tried to solder wires around the bios chip, because it has copper/gold pads around the bios chip to use (these

We could not test it yet, tomorrow i will go to a guy who can proffesionally solder with pro tools, and also He has to repair first the trace paths to the bios chip on motherboard because when i first unsoldering it with my cheap soldering iron i broke it accidently, somehow very easily comes off / peels of the factory copper pads around bios chip. (( so first we repir traces and then we can write new bios you sent me... 🤞

So tomorrow will be the big day, i pray in advance🤞🤞🤞

    Hello Peste,

First i Wish you happy new year! And for Everyone!

I forgot to ask you, when you making a bios file like what you sent me (orig+ n75 + outcome), is it matter wich motherboard do i have in my laptop? ( i see 3 different model number MB for 820 g3), or no matters because my corrupted bios dump what i posted contained all these informations?

I see lot of people when posting their bios dump but they also write next to it their motherboard number too, not only the dump... That's why i am thinking...

    Thank you Peste.

Then it makes sense why is laptop not turn on anymore.

But anyway i don't know why it get corrupted, it was working before soldering... maybe this soldering and heat can make it corrupt/fault...?!

Me as a "knowledge seeker" , can i ask what does mean in names the Orig+n75 and outimage words ?

Also can i use the "HP UNLOCKER" on this image you sent me to delete bios password?

    Thanks again

    Hello Forum Members,

can someone please check this dump? Laptop is HP 820 g3, with windbond 25q128fvpq wson8 chip, bios is password locked in this dump. (this dump is read by these: nero, asprogrammer, ch341, always verified, and contents always the same checked with hexeditor)

Originaly the chip was desoldered to remove this bios password, but finally did nothing with chip..., then only soldered back to the laptop but it did not turn on anymore, only blinking power button and yellow/white leds keep lighting...

    ---

Thank you very much for the infos.

If i understand well, these would be the detailed procedures, steps:

    1. Buy an SPI programmer tool

    2. Desolder or clamp to the bios chip to establish a connection

    3. Launch a software, back up the original bios, save it to an other desktop computer or other laptop.

4.Use the HPunlocker.exe application in this thread to remove the password from the downloaded/saved bios file.

    5. Flash back this...

    Re: HP BIOS unlock tool

    Hi,

I am not experted in bios things, but i learn quick, usually. I have purchased a used Hp Elitebook 820 g3 laptop (l4q19av, 6600u cpu). Seller forgot to tell me bios is locked, now he dosen’t remember the password... To unlcok bios, do i have to do these steps:

    1. Download current bios from the laptop, but wich program should i use for this?

    2. Use the HP unlock tool here, “drag and drop” and unlocked?

    3. Flash back the new unlocked bios, but wich program should use for it? Also on bootable...
