    Hey,
    Thanks for the quick response.
I wrote it to the chip and it did boot. Its still locked though.
The suffix of the serial change to 6FF1 so I tried unlocking using the code generated:
    w80nQt0c1oDmb1t8

    Unfortunately did not unlock

Re: Surface 3 Clean Bios? (noob)

    Hey guys,

I have unlocked a bunch of these surface 3, but having trouble with 2. I attach a copy of the BIOS.

In the first one (surface 3 BIOS 1), I get the following password:
    Gara!a1&

For this one, I suppose I am converting the hex file wrong and it's not reading special characters or similar. What do you guys get?

and the second (Surface 3 BIOS 2) I get the password as:

    Jeglikerpizza542

    or potentially
    Jeglikerpizza5428...

    Many thanks friend.
I actually just figured it out myself

After I found the AMI XOR decryption key, it was just plugging all data in a XOR decryption tool and decoding the hex

For my example the hex hash is
    7200006a000034000035000062000031000030000035

    and password rj45b105

Thanks for the tips, was a fun challenge.

Hey - sorry mate accidentally uploaded the first guys BIOS instead of my own.. so yes you are correct for the file there.. Attaching now the real one I need the BIOS pass for.

Besides that where can I find the AMI XOR Cipher? Is it somewhere on this forum?

    Apologies and thanks again!...

    Hey,

I have a few of these machines with BIOS pass. How exactly do you decrypt the code?

    Attaching my BIOS here

I was able to find the AMITSESetup hash I think:

    4E5641526800FFFFFF8221414D49545345536574757000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000002993DC2625BA594DA5E013744D07ED9A332E8EC1E95444E89F7BFA0E55A2B0350BC9665CC1EF1C8301

Of which the important part should be:

    2993DC2625BA594DA5E013744D07ED9A332E8EC1E95444E89F7BFA0E55A2B0350BC9665CC1EF1C8301...

    Re: HP BIOS unlock tool

    Hi,
Ok - yea you are right.. Its not an elitebook, probook or Zbook... I got a little trigger happy there. I have some 40 x HP laptops with BIOS pass (mostly elitebooks) that have been sitting around and saw this as a godsend heh.

Attaching a copy of the BIOS (locked). I checked it and verified it several times without error. The weird thing is, when I tried to re-flash the original locked BIOS to the board, it still gave no-response (flashing AC light).

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Re: HP BIOS unlock tool

Hey guys. I recently tried to unblock a few X360 310 G2 using clips.

They have BIOS chip 25LQ64C and MX25U6435F (1 unit had the first and one the second).

Unfortunately, neither now work and I don´t have a good backup of a their BIOS (I suppose the read was corrupted as well).

I´m new to this, so did not know that these chips needed to be desoldered to read / write and now left with 2 dead boards.

Anyways, I have another one with a clean BIOS, so my plan is to desolder that one, read it correctly and then...
