Re: Cooler running resistor
Fan not practical, I'll use a heatsink.

Re: Cooler running resistor
Thanks, probably go for a 10w resistor, did think of an aluminium ohmite resistor, think they do a 15w one.

Cooler running resistor
Not sure of the power draw on a circuit, the resisor specified is a 56 ohm 5 watt, what can I use that is cooler running? The resistor is used as a load on a 12v circuit.

Re: Philips 19PFL5522D/05, psu clicking
All done, slight problem with a pad lifting, the -ve side of c111 22uF 50v and after a lot of head scratching and looking at it closely the track was also attached to zd111 which I bridged with the cap leg, can anyone confirm this with a schematic?Last edited by Sylvester; 02-21-2014, 02:41 PM.

No, just one source I use only had an EB listed for that one.

Would the pana EB series be ok for the 22uF 50v?
I'll look at changing the pictures.Last edited by Sylvester; 02-19-2014, 10:23 AM.

Delta PSU PHPWR0000159, DAC-12M057 AF,
2995307100 rev 00, with bloated GL & KF capxon's, will replace them all but wondering what is the best replacement for them? I was going to use pana FR's, the 2200uF 10v can't be more than 20mm.
1x 22uF 50v GL
1x 2200uf 10v GL
all the rest KF
5x 470uF 16v
1x 470uF 25v
4 x 1000uF 10v

Re: Car battery charger, no charge.
Not much to it, the pcb is quite small, some resistors, prob a zener and a few transistors along with the scr and bridge rectifier, not sure what the ac voltage to the rectifier should be?

Re: Car battery charger, no charge.
Hooked it up to battery on compact tractor, turned on lights and no difference to charge rate, reading about 12v, IIRC the charge voltage should be about 14.6 or so.Last edited by Sylvester; 12-08-2013, 07:46 PM.

Car battery charger, no charge.
Discovered car battery charger isn't doing its job, ammeter isn't showing much activity, voltage no load is about 8.5v dc, not checked ac before rectifier as yet, what ac voltage would I be looking for before the rectifier?
The charger is a 6 amp with various options 100% charge, float and an unregulated type charge, has a s6015l thyristor and a KBPC1201 bridge rectifier and what looks like some kind of resistor? in the ammeter circuit.
Post pics later

Re: 2Wire psu BT 2700HGV router
I've used a 2 part loctite epoxy before to repair difficult plastic, grey when mixed, just find it messy to use, also tried another loctite product which was an activator brushed onto plastic before using superglue but it didn't seem to be any better than using superglue on its ownLast edited by Sylvester; 12-01-2013, 06:44 PM.

Re: 2Wire psu BT 2700HGV router
PVC/solvent glue doesn't work on this cover, I'll try superglue, plastic can be a problem.

Re: 2Wire psu BT 2700HGV router
Update on this,
finally fitted 1000uF 10v FR's, psu is now working, router is now alive. The 16v sat just above the heatsink and would be in contact with the case.
What do you guys stick the case back together with, I thought some solvent glue would stick them together but it doesn't melt the plastic?

Re: 2Wire psu BT 2700HGV router
I'll have another look at the FR's but think they stick a little above the heatsink, failing that its the FM's.

Re: 2Wire psu BT 2700HGV router
I can't believe someone has over specced the caps on this psu, or is it the originals were so far out of spec!Last edited by Sylvester; 11-12-2013, 07:30 PM.

Re: 2Wire psu BT 2700HGV router
I've got panasonic FR series 8x20mm but as you'll see from the photo they are taller than the originals, not a lot of space for them, as mentioned, I'll need to widen the holes for the panasonics to fit. So far haven't found a 18mm or so tall 8mm cap.

2Wire psu BT 2700HGV router
Router is a rebadged 2wire, no lights on hub, psu has faint squealing from it when plugged into router, DMM shows 5.1v but no idea what happens when plugged into router.
Opened psu case and saw 3 bulging 1000v 16v rifeking caps, so decided to change them but ran into a problem, I had 20mm x 8mm caps but they are too tall by a few mm and the pins wouldn't go through the small pcb holes 1.2mm?
So I'll need to find some caps that'll fit, anyone had these psu's fail?[/IMG]

Re: Imac late 2006 psu 614-0380
Thanks for the advice on getting this fixed, its appreciated.
It took a while but we got there, sourcing components can be difficult especially with minimum order values, and spurious meter readings!
I checked the batteries and they were ok, also checked some 1/4w resistor values which were correct, didn't have any 2w types to try.
The next purchase is a new dmm.
