Re: Need to know the reference of a connector [imac logicboard]
Thank you so much.
I guess that that reference is an Apple one, so to match it to a Molex connector should be difficult, I guess.

Re: How to Re-assemble Macbook battery ?
Thanks for your reply.
I think it is the best thing to do.
For this Macbook the compatible ones, cost less than £20.
Cheers,
Pedro

Re: iMac power supply short-circuit diode to ground
Hi,
I tried both sun and a lamp, but I can't see anything.
The board is very populated, so it is difficult for the light to pass. I think it will be possible to do that if I start desoldering heatsinks, transformers, inductors and large components.
As I have 2 identical power supplies maybe I will do that to one of them.
However I think it is a multi-layer PCB and I will tell you why. Maybe I am wrong.
When I test the diode, as referred in the beginning of this thread, the multimeter shows...

Re: iMac power supply short-circuit diode to ground
Hi,
I am sorry for not replying.
I bought another power supply, which works. As I have 2 power supplies from DELTA, this time I used another brand (ACBEL) and it works fine.
However, I really want to fix the other 2 or at least one of them.
I can try to clean it, so you can see the tracks, but even looking at it in my hand I cannot see much.
Maybe this PCB is multi-layer, since there are few tracks visible.
I am feeling tempted to sacrifice one of them, removing all the...

Re: LVDS board not working with Mitsubishi LCD
Hi,
I have just tested the LCD again.

Auto mode - nothing happens (vertical stripes visible)
Entering factory mode - nothing happens
Voltage in pins 1 and 2 of the lvds connector 3.3V ? - yes
Connect computer to the board - computer detects display correctly
When I connect the computer it is recognised with the correct resolution and I can even move the mouse out of my laptop's screen to the external monitor, but I cannot see the mouse pointer due to the stripes.
The manual...

Re: LVDS board not working with Mitsubishi LCD
What I was referring to can be seen on the picture attached. There are 2 pins missing in the connector and those pins are ground on the LCD side.
I am using ODD pinout, but still no working. I cannot see what can be wrong from the wiring point of view. :-(

Re: LVDS board not working with Mitsubishi LCD
I have been through both datasheets and tested the connections with a multimeter.
Everything seems to be correctly wired except for 2 pins, which should be GND/VSS but they are not connected. Actually, the pins don't exist in the connectors on both sides.
Please check the datasheets attached to this post. Maybe I have missed something.

How to Re-assemble Macbook battery ?
Hi
I have an old 2007 Macbook with a dead battery. Mac OS detects the battery but cannot charge it and dispays a message: replace battery.
This is a 6 cell battery with 3 blocks of cells connected in series and each block contains 2 cells connected in parallel.
In order to try to avoid buing another battery, I've desoldered all the cells and check the voltage of each one of them, which ranged from 0.8V to 1.2V.
So I've charged them individually and all of them are at 3.7V, now.
After a couple of days they still hold the charge.
My problem...

Re: LVDS board not working with Mitsubishi LCD
Hi,
Today I've taken a look at the datasheets of, both, the LCD panel and the controller board.
Attached, you will find screenshots of the pinout for both devices (LCD and controller), taken from each datasheet.
I've noticed that the cable which connects to the LVDS on the panel side, doesn't have two pins connected, which should be ground. Is that important, maybe not, since there are other pins which are ground.
I have one doubt regarding the contoller's datasheet. What does it mean ODD...

Re: LVDS board not working with Mitsubishi LCD
Thank you for your answer.
But do I really need an extra PCB, or just to swap the pins in the molex connector to the correct position?
I have the datasheet of the LCD, but I don't know the pinout in the board. Do you know if I can get this information easily?
Cheers,
Pedro...

LVDS board not working with Mitsubishi LCD
Hi,
I have two identical LCD displays from Mitsubishi/OPTREX, reference AA084XB01 and I've bought off ebay an LVDS board for it.
Connecting the board to either display gives me vertical coloured stripes.
The seller sent me another board and the same happens.
I am thinking that either the wrong firmware was used or the pinout is, somehow, wrong and the cables are wrongly connected.
Please take a look at the pictures attached.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Pedro...
