Re: A1708 820-00840-01 Chime Loop
I remove the caps and tried it again. It´s doing the same.

Re: A1708 820-00840-01 Chime Loop
Sorry mon2, I made a mistake when i wrote it. PP3V3_G3H is 3,41V. Is 4,5KOhm to ground. I´m going to remove the caps now.

Re: A1708 820-00840-01 Chime Loop
I found two capacitors with some cracks in PPBUS_G3H_CPU rail. In resistance mode it measure 5Kohm and rising. I attach a photo. Could it be related?...

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
It´s working!! I solder back D6950 and connect to the battery. It turns on normally! The only problem i have now are the two CD3215. If i connect the adapter, the amp meter cycles. When the two cd3215 arrive, I will comment on how it went. Maybe bad solder on D6950?? Thank you very much mon2!! You help me a lot!! Now i have another board like this one. I open another thread. If you want you can help me tooAGAIN, THANK YOU!!

Re: A1708 820-00840-01 Chime Loop
Nothing, stays like at the beginning. Starts the chime loop and to ended i have to maintain the power button. I have the touchpad click but not any light in the caps lock. Maybe bios?

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
PP3V3_G3H is now present and stable. This are the voltages in Q7065:
1) Source (1-2-3) :10,23V
2) gate (4): 2,34V
3) drain (5-6-7-8):10,23V
Do i have to solder back D6950 and chech?

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
Yes, the fuse F700 is removed.
Yes, with adapter only all rails are pulsing. When the amp meter cycle, the rails go down and the back up again. With the battery no PP3V3_G3H.

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
i removed D6950. Still no PPBUS_G3H.
I reconnect the battery and in Pin 4 of Q7065 mosfet i have 9,6V.
Resistance measuresment:
source & drain: Open Line
source (1-2-3) & gate (4): 10,53Mohm
gate(4) & drain (5-6-7-8): 6,12Mohm
PP3V3_G3H voltage with only battery connected is 0V. With only the adapter is 3,4V

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
When i reconnect the battery in pin 1 of the of F7000 i have 10,1V (i don´t have the fuse solder in place), thats the voltage of the battery, am i right? so ppbus_g3h is created.Last edited by Aitorflores7; 01-30-2022, 08:27 AM.

A1708 820-00840-01 Chime Loop
Hi everyone!
I have A1708 13'' Macbook Pro with 820-00840-01 board. When i connect the charger with the amp meter it goes to 20V 600-660mA and the down to 280mA and stays there. Chime sound stays repeating all the time. No backlight, yes trackpad clicking. I don´t have an usb-c usb pendrive or mouse to test cpu activity.
PPBUS_G3H: 13.04V
PPDCIN_G3H: 20,24V
PP3V3_G3H: 3,14V
Any suggestions?

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
TBA_AUX_DET: 1,3V pulsing
TBA_CSIR_P: 5,2V pulsing
TBA_CSIR_N: 5,2V pulsing
C7025: 5,2V pulsing / 3Mohm

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
Yes, PPBUS_G3H is not working. I removed the fuse and still nothing. Resistance to ground in Pin1: 2,5 Mohm and in Pin2: 940Kohm

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
Sorry mon2! My fault! i measured D6905...
This are the measuresment:
D6950 in resistance mode: Pin1: 102Kohm / Pin2: 120Kohm / Pin3: 0,3ohm
D6950 in diode mode: Pin1: 0,430V / Pin2: 0,430V / Pin3: 0,009V

This are the measuresment:
D6950 in resistance mode: Pin1: 3,3Mohm / Pin2: 878Kohm / Pin3: 2,6Mohm
D6950 in diode mode: Pin1: 0,440V / Pin2: 0,555V / Pin3: 0,552V
U3200 diode mode: CC1: 0,599V / CC2:0,604V
U3100 diode mode: CC1: 0,604V / CC2:0,614V
Thank you for helping me too!...

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
I try to reflow the 2 cd3215. Now my amp meter is cycling too and i have PP1V1_UPC_XB_LDO_BMC back and cycling like the other rails. Bad cd3215?...

Re: A1708 820-00840-A 5V 80-100mA
So im going to buy some cd3215 and check if that solve the problem. If i remove the two cd3215, rails should stop cycling?...
