  • Forgot to update. I ended up replacing the fan and it started working again.

  • Hi everyone, not sure if I've introduced myself or not. Originally joined way back in the day when I was having issues with my Dell 2007WFP and then ended up slowly being less active here. Hoping to be more active now that I have some more time. A bit about me, I'm the guy that right now knows how to solder and work on circuit boards, if someone tells me what needs to be done. Hoping I can get some knowledge from the veterans here that will guide me on being someone who can actually understand how some of these boards work rather than just fixing them.

  • Xbox One Fan not Working

So, I did something stupid and then followed it up with something stupid again (I think). Let me explain.
I have an Xbox One (OG model) which I took apart to deep clean. All case components were washed and the board was dusted. I put it back together and it ran for about 30 seconds before I heard a pop and the fan shut off. When I took it back apart, I found a drop of water on the board which must have fell from the top case.

Attempted to test the fan using the schematics. Mind you, it's been years since I've looked at schematics, and my knowledge on reading it is almost non...

Okay, i'll work on replacing the caps first. Can I test a cap with a multimeter?

I don't want to take apart the other monitor at the moment, my dad needs it every day and if something goes wrong, I'm dead...

  • Re: Dell 2007WFP Won't Power On

I have 2 of these monitors, one is my dads and this one was mine. Basically when it went out, I replaced the USB board with one from a known working monitor and it worked fine. That rules out #3 and #4.

About it working, occasionally it'll work but it'll only go as far as to turn on the backlight for a second and then it'll go off. This happens about 5% of the time.

All capacitors aren't bulged out or leaking. Could they still be bad?
    What's the inverter transformer?

Sorry to bring this old thread back to life but I'm still trying to get this monitor back up. I'm using a CRT for now. Any ideas on what may have failed of the USB board?

All the fuses read .00 to .02 Ohms, they also show continuity. Could one of the capacitors have failed?

I resoldered that and it didn't work. Any other suggestions?

I tried to reheat most of the solder points, maybe I missed that one. I'll try it tonight and post back.

I can however say that occasionally it'll power on for 2 seconds and then start flashing.

Sorry for the delay all, I'm still waiting for a good sunny day when I can take pics. I've been hit by the east coast storm and I haven't had a good sunny day yet, just dull days :/
I'm hoping to have pics for you tomorrow.

Are there any specific areas I should be checking for cold solders?

I don't have any idea where to start to even look for the voltage regulators. I have an idea of where the diodes are though (Are they the two by the 12v power connector?

How do I check them with a digital multimeter?

Here's some pics of my board. Do you all need better pics or pics of the back? If so, I'll be able to post better pics that I can take in daylight....

Sorry to bring this old thread back to life but I'm having a similar problem.
I have a second 2007WFP which will only flash the power and <- continuously. I replaced every board with a known good one and came down to the conclusion that the USB hub board has a fault in it. I broke it down even further and figured out that if I bend pin 3 out of the way, the monitor powers on but I don't see a picture on it. Any ideas?

    Pin 3 is:
