Re: Samsung HT-AS1T crackling front right speaker
Hi, sorry for the late update.
Took the amp apart, and tried resoldering the 4 pins for the left and right speaker. Seemed to have no effect, as the issue is still there.
I have noticed that the audio seems to play normally, but its overpowered by the loud crackling sound (like an old TV with no signal)
I've only just checked this thread, so I never took any pics, but I noticed that one of the plastic clips that holds the connectors to the circuit board, was snapped. No idea how this has...

Samsung HT-AS1T crackling front right speaker
Amp/Sub combo. crackling sound coming from the front right speaker, not sure if it clears up after a while (solder joints warming up) but if it is, it should be as easy as resoldering the speaker outputs right?
If its not that, what kind of things should I be looking for to resolve this issue?

Re: Chimei CMV 946A caps
if you're in the UK, go to http://www.esr.co.uk/components and click on the catalogue at the top right of the page. Go to page 10 and you'll find Radial Electrolytic capacitors (the green ones) Those are the ones I used to fix my monitor. flat £2.50 delivery charge, with no minimum order.
The 10v caps can be replaced with 16v ones.Re: Chimei CMV 946A caps<br /> <br ...ll find Radial

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
well it'll have to be 16v caps then. As long as they work, then thats good enough for me.

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
the 6.3v ones are actually not that much smaller than the 16 and 25v ones

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
theres a couple of 6.3v caps, so im asuming that its ok to replace those with 25v caps?

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
they're buldging thoughand I would expect them to fail soon, so I'd rather replace them before they do

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
Ok, the monitor is working fine now, as I mentioned before, but there are a few more caps I would feel more comfortable if I replaced. Problem is, a couple of them are 125 degree caps, and esr.co.uk only seem to have 105 degree caps. Would it be ok to use 105 degree caps instead of 125?

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
Good news. Replaced the caps, and it powers up like normal now
Really is a nice monitor when its running fine.
I suprised myself with how clean my soldering was, I'm not an expert with a soldering iron, but my joints looked just like the joins already present on the board.
I am a happy bunny...

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
To be honest, I don't mind using the cheapest caps I can find, as long as they work. If I can get a few extra months out of this monitor, i'll be happy.

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
its ok. out of those caps I ordered, I only intend to use one of them. Infact, having said that, when I come to order the other 7 I need, I might just order the extra one....

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
Ok I have a problem now. It appears I overlooked the other 2 circuit boards in this monitor (don't ask how, I honestly don't know)
I have no idea what these 2 boards do, but i'm sure most of you here will know exactly what they are, and what problems they can cause.
After inspecting these 2 boards, I have found a total of 7 bad capacitors. I can replace them, but it's going to have to be put on hold for 2 weeks untill I can find some spare money to buy them.

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
Ok, ive placed my order with esr.co.uk. it should cost me £3.69 for 7 capacitors. Thats pretty cheap!

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
well, I had a look at the RS components website, and they seem to have all the caps I need. It will cost me just under £10. I feel a bit stupid, but I can't get my head around the esr website. If you're willing to help me out, I can list the caps on power board, and you can pick out the ones i need for me

Well, if you know of anywhere I can buy them online in the UK, please by all means let me know. I would very much like to get this monitor working again, its a great display.

Re: Belinea 102035W Help
yeah, I've already looked around, and the capacitor I need is a 1000uf 16v, which I can get on ebay. I'll sort one out next week, after I fine my soldering iron.
