Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Thank you but I tink I will leave it as it is since all is working well. Nvidia throws a 43 error in Windows, it may be BIOS it may be the need for a reball.
Thank you for the help...

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Phlash clean.bin from DOS will not work? I don't have any hardware to use like a SPI programmer
Can't the CAB file be edited? I saw something about this on another forum. I think it would be the safest way to approach this given that the matter in question is editing some details?Last edited by internetdivisor; 04-19-2020, 03:38 AM.

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Ok, nothing happens. If I run the command from DOS it says /all command is invalid and if I delete the coomand and run the update it says:
ERROR 233 - Only secured capsule is allowed on a SecureFlash system!Last edited by internetdivisor; 04-19-2020, 03:27 AM.

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Ok, getting to it. Should I also do the same procedure with EC? I won't edit anything just rename the file.
I'll keep you posted.
PS: the actual bios is the file attached on the EXE mentioned above.

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Should I use Plhash in a bootable DOS USB for both files with the command : phlash "filename".bin for both the files you provided?
Thanks

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Thanks for the info, now, I am a real newbie when it comes to BIOS and manual flashing. I got the bin you posted at #8, the BIN. Now, how to flash it without bricking something?
I have no idea how to flash the EC or the Bin you posted.
LE: I have no idea how to backup the actual BIOS that is running on the machine in order to post it here for checking. If that can help, please be so kind as to direct me to how it should be done.
If it's too much to ask, thanks for all the help you provided so far and best...Last edited by internetdivisor; 04-19-2020, 02:21 AM.

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
At this point I believe that the commands should be put in the winflash64.bat using almost the same method used to flash the new OEM BIOS with restart, UEFI write and restart but I am stuck at this points given that the commands in there elude me.
Please adivise

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
So it looks like we are getting closer. Suggested by another member I tried the Winflash64 that comes in the BIOS update package with the following command string, besides other:
Winflash64.exe /patch /dms "LENOVO" /nodelay /exit
And I get this:
Phoenix SCT Flash for Windows V2.35.0.0
SecureFlash BIOS detected.
Initialize Flash module.
Read current BIOS
Begin Flashing......
----++++++------+++++++ etc.
Image flashing done....

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Far from me to argue your opinion, when you have the time please send me your version in order to try it. The one I had gave that Error even when I tried to read the info EX: LvarWin64V221.exe /r /ln or something like that, popped the SPI interface Not Ready. And I never seen that error on the web

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
LVAR64, LVAR32, LvarDos, etc does not work on Phoenix BIOS as I found so far, when trying to set the values, either in DOS or Windows it throws an error about SPI interface not ready or something.
As I also found out, and got the full "Lenovo Internal Document", it was used for Y700-15ISK and not IDEAPAD 700-15ISK. Offtopic: can't understand why Lenovo launched 2 products with almost identical names, but that's just me....Last edited by internetdivisor; 04-18-2020, 10:13 AM.

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Dear fire, thanks for the info but unfortunately I am a home-user and and I don't have any hardware tools.
Can this be accomplished by editing the files that i attached here by someone who knows what he is doing?
Sadly so far I wasn't able to find some software, program etc to make a dump or backup of the actual BIOS that is running (i mean the actual settings) given that the File Type: zip E5CN63WW.zip (3.33 MB, 2 views) is updated at this time and runs the laptop.
LE: I also have an identical...

I also attached the RW-Everything report. This is as far as I know to extract information from the actual bios....

Re: Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Dear fire1234,
This is the bios that is actually runing as we speak. If you need any other info please direct me to how to provide it.
PS: everything works well with the exception of the integrated tx950M that gives a 43 error code in Windows, might be BIOS might not, that will be investigated later on.
Best Regards and thank you in advance for helping....Last edited by internetdivisor; 04-18-2020, 05:03 AM.

Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU MDM - INVALID
Dear Gents
I rescued a Lenovo Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU.
The matter is that Bios is displaying:
Product Name - Lenovo E5 - Wrong, it should be the above name
MTM - INVALID - should be replaced by the number on the sticker on the backside of the laptop
Lenovo SN - INVALID - should be replaced by the number on the sticker on the backside of the laptop
UUID Number - 0000000-000 etc, this one might have been lost because i don't have it anywhere.
All te info can be seen in the attachement.
Now, can someone please add...
