Re: "Toshiba" 40L1333B and others...
That's one of the reasons I don't advertise for them, not really a "people person" (quite the opposite!) so rather just grab them kerbside than deal with humans... Especially when there's people who want money for panelled sets like we'll be getting the superglue out and squishing the liquid crystal back in with a pipette "well it's a 50" & it wasn't cheap.... " (excuse me, you mean it WAS a 50", it's now a pile of dubiously useful parts held together by a few screws.)
My main hobby/pocket...

Re: Inverter tester using old CFL
It could be that the CFL is drawing slightly less/more current than your backlight tubes would, hence it's still going into protection but taking slightly longer to do so? Just a guess but seems possible given the arrangement of the lamps in this set.

That and they always either keep or bin the remote rather than leave it with the set for anyone that might want to fix it! I mean, beggars can't be choosers and all that but it'd be nice to have these things. (power cords I can understand,...Last edited by ekjdm14; 04-19-2020, 06:46 AM.

"Toshiba" 40L1333B and others...
Just wanted to share my experiences of late & thank the members of this forum for sharing theirs too. It's been a great help repairing some kerbside sets recently.
So, with household waste sites being closed for the forseeable I've noticed on my shopping and excercise trips a spike in the number of TV's being left kerbside & (disinfectant spray in hand, obviously!) I've been taking advantage and grabbing some free entertainment while on lockdown.
First set was a c.2005 Bush branded 32" LCD a few weeks ago, this had a failed bootstrap cap but sadly being out...Last edited by ekjdm14; 04-18-2020, 04:20 PM.
