• Re: Philips 47PFL5028K/12 - Remote Control repair help

No liquid for what I know ....
Yesterday I retried to put batteries inside and began working fine but after a while restarted blinking endlessly....and after other time was dead unresponsive.
Maybe was working until cap was not fully charged for some IC malfunctioning?

• Philips 47PFL5028K/12 - Remote Control repair help

Hello,
my remote control for my beloved TV (Philips 47PFL5028K/12) is no more working.
Codes of the remote should be :
PHILIPS 996590004895, YKF314-005

It's blinking endlessy when I insert AAA batteries.
Checked cap seems ok, the transistor (i think is that) seems good
IC not checked.
I thought also to a stuck key.

I switched cap and seemed to be ok but it restarted blinking endlessy again..

May the IC fail if battery polarity is inverted? because my son told me he did that ...

The schematics...

Yes , should be clean from electrolyte .
It was like an emergency solution because this is my main pc and I should make it works as fast as possible. Maybe with the right tools I can consider to redo the job better.
This experience made me consider to upgrade my soldering tool but I' m quite confused beetween all the offers on the market. I know its a personal choice but have you any good hint for buying a good soldering iron with a reasonable price.
Theoretically which wattage range is required to desolder hard motherboard...

• Re: DELL Precision 490 Motherboard RAM issue

Hello,
I made replaced the 3 swollen caps somehow and the memory issue (for now) seems to be solved.
Anyway I had huge problems desoldering the old ones ( probably my desoldering tool is crap for this works, and my soldering iron too).
Eventually I ripped off old caps and soldered new ones on the old caps legs . I know this is really a bad way to work but I had no more way to proceed.

thanks to all

• Re: DELL Precision 490 Motherboard RAM issue

Thank you all for these explanations. I will put some Panasonic FR 1000uF 6.3v (exactly the same size d10x20mm.
Anyway I think I have some problems with contacts too.
Yesterday reseating dimm modules I increased usable ram size from 8 to 32GB.
In Bios before was 32GB installed but 8 usable.
In bios after reseating was 32GB usable (in quad channel configuration...faster!!)
I don’t understand why bios see always 32GB because this means stick are correctly recognized.
How can I clean ram sticks...

• Re: VW224T ASUS Capacitor values replacements

Thank you for answer,
Yes , I m sure you re right, the problem is probably a T-con lcd issue because I tried swapping the flat cable and eventually another main board (from an AOC !!) and the line lasts.
The only news is that the line changed color from green to white now, maybe all RGB crystals of the line are lit now and the result is a white color?
Thanks anyway.

Bye

AOC E2470SWHE No power

Greetings,
I have this monitor wiht a smashed screen and I would like only to understand which problem had only for curiosity.
Opening it I found its very similar or maybe identical in power board and main board to the ASUS VW224T I repaired some days ago for a bad capacitor on the power board.

The problem: Fuse : Gone, Bridge rectifier : Gone and a strange spot circular burn on the screen panel side in corrispondence of one leg of the transformer (near the R926 Resistor).
I replaced bridge , fuse but still non life but no short circuit now.
320V in the big...

After the capacitor swap all was ok , but the next day a (damn) vertical green line appeared on the left side of the screen.
I ve yet tryed in the order:

Check and clean every connections an flat from tcon to panel

Checked continuity on flat cable

Tryed to press the contacts on the screen, on back and front , no effect

Tryed to light the screen without flat cable inserted and the screen is perfectly white without the (damn)green line
I begin thinking the...

Maybe Sanyo 2200uF 16V could be better?
Or Panasonic 2200uF 6.3V FR series EEUFR0J222?

• Re: VW224T ASUS Capacitor values replacements

I reply to myself, I salvaged a 1000uF 50V from an old led driver and I swapped the cap.
Only bigger capacitor beacuse is for higher voltage but should be ok, isnt it?

• DELL Precision 490 Motherboard RAM issue

Hello,
I have 8 populated slots of ram for a total of 32GB but I have a problem on the amount seen from the system.
I found this issue time ago when I seen that the boot sequence told me the amount of ram was changed and maybe in the next boot all was ok.
Now the problem is always present and looking closer the mainboard I have seen 3 swollen 2200uF 6.3V capacitor around ram slots.
It s possible that the bad capacitors dont give the correct voltage to the ram slots and I see this problem?
Which capacitors are good for this application? (usually I use...

• VW224T ASUS Capacitor values replacements

Greetings all,

I got this LCD that was on the way to the dump from my company IT.
The problem was a blinking led and the screen that was trying to light up lcd lamps , cycling endlessly.
I struggled a bit disassembling it, because is better assembled than other brands in my opinion.
I found on the secondary of the power board (driving the lamp inverter I think) a 1000uF 25V swollen and I tested the other 5 or 6 of same or other values desoldering them (all more or less ok).

I had only a 1000uF 16V so I used 2 salvaged 470uF 35V in parallel....

• Re: 47PFL5028K/12 Philips TV with DVBS2 tuner issue

Thank you very much for your reply, I checked both Option 1 and 2 codes and they are identical to the the back label.
I begin to think it is an hardware failure, maybe the tuner is gone or the power supply has not enough juice to feed also the LNB.
I don't understand how the software can exclude some part of menu if it recognize an hardware failure.

Thank you

• Re: 47PFL5028K/12 Philips TV with DVBS2 tuner issue

Greetings all,
i would like to explain better my problem, maybe first post was a bit confusing.

I dont use satellite frequently and one day I have seen the option in menu was no more present.
I supposed was a software problem but reflashing several times did the same .
My question is, its possible that a faulty satellite tuner (so an hardware porblem) make the software remove the satellite option in menu?
This is the odd thing to me, I supposed the satellite option still will be in menu...

• 47PFL5028K/12 Philips TV with DVBS2 tuner issue

Greetings all , I introduce my problem.

My wonderful 47PFL5028K/12 Philips TV (with a DVBS2 tuner) had this odd beahviour, in menu the Satellite options disappeared , I reflashed , upgraded etc. with no luck.
I used the DVBS2 tuner for years with a CI card for a czech provider, so I didnt dreamed about the satellite functionality.
My thinking , before opening it, since is my main TV is that could be an hardware failure e.g. DVBS tuner and the software automagically remove the satellite entries not releving it.
Anyone knows something about it?
