  • Re: Samsung LE40M86BDX/XEU

Thanks for the reply and the advice. I did manage to download a service manual for this model which hopefully should provide a method of performing the task.

I'm betting that the tubes are specialist, I.e. not like the "bog standard" tubes available from an electrical retailer. Can you advise upon where one could obtain replacements within the UK?

  • Samsung LE40M86BDX/XEU

    Greetings all;

Have recently acquired a Samsung LE40M86BDX/XEU tv (going very cheap) from a friend - who has upgraded to something a wee bit larger.

The picture on the set is good and (touch wood) all appears to function as it should. However, one thing I have noticed is a very-very feint narrow (off white/yellowish) band about a third of the way down (right across the screen), when the picture is showing a white background - Is this something that can be addressed?

Apologies but no photo - my camera isn't sensitive enough pick it up.

Thanks for the response and that of Dick Barton also.

Yeah it is as I suspected, the part number is for a "blank" pcb which requires programming for the particular TV - makes sense.

The boards I have seen for sale don't match my particular TV - so it was a good job I asked the question.

    Thanks again

    Cheers

    Thanks for the response.

I have seen the video, but the problem shown within said video is not what I’m experiencing, I.e. my TV does start without any problem. The issue is that it switches itself off after a few minutes and then goes into continuous a switch on/switch off loop.

I did change the capacitors on the board (within the shielded cage area) as shown specifically within the video and other capacitors as directed by the various related threads on the forum.

    Admittedly I...

  • Samsung LE32R87BD BN41-00813B Bordeaux PSU

    Greetings all:

Have been following the forum with regard to the early Samsung LCD TV's - in particular those that utilise the motherboard part No BN41-00813B - Bordeaux.

I've been having problems with my particular Samsung TV (model LE32R87BD) constantly switching itself on and off. In view of this, I took the advice from the forum regarding replacing various (SMD type) capacitors on the motherboard, etc.

But for all of the effort involved have been to no avail, I.e. I cannot seem to fix the problem - c'est la vie, sigh ........!

    This...
