I have tested the CN6753 12pin connector has this values for 3 seconds before the shutdown:

SONY LED TV BAL board Throubleshooting
Hi All,
I hope you can help me.
I have a Sony 46HX800 with 4 blinking red lights with no backlight, no image , as per the manual it says I need to check PANEL_FAIL at JL2565 (it is weird thast that connector does not have any cable connected so I assume the PANEL_FAIL signal comes from the LVDS cable). I am getting 3.3v for 2 seconds and then it shutsdown.
The only way I can bypass the 4 lights is if I disconnect the cable between the TCON board and LD board. I have changed the LD board but still the same issue. So I think it is an issue with the... -

Hi @nwcs, did you find the fix for your issue? Was it the power Supplu? I have the same issue but with 4 blink red lights. My tv is 46HX800 very similar to yours.

Hi all,
I hope you can help me. I am a newbie in the TV repair area, I have a SONY Bravia KDL-46HX800 which it is in standby and when I want to turn on, the lights turns green and after 2 seconds it turns red and blinks 4 times.
I have been googling it and I could dissassemble and make sure it has 3.3v in the stand by pin. I would like to identify which board (Power Supply, main board or led driver) is the defective one so I can order a replacement.

Hi Tom, finally I "desoldered" the aic2857 and due to my lack of desoldering knowledge, I ruined the pads and some small resistors. So the mainboard its gone.
It is still powering, the standby and power led works. My last option was to bridge the 5v (pin 3) to the 5v stand by but still the tv does not turn on.
So I suspect the mainboard is gone and I should throw it away.

Hi Tom, can also this black cylinder (I think this is a coil) be faulty ? (see photo) it provides 0.63v to the AIC2857 chip instead of 5v.
Also given that I have 5v in the mainboard, can I bridge the 5v standby with the 5v main?

I noticed that there is one chip named aic2857F that receives 0.63v and I think it should receive 5v.

Hi Tom, These are the measures I did on the chip on stand by and with the power led on. but I could not measure it with the TV working. I tried many times and it does not turn on, I will keep trying and will upload the values when the tv works.
One more thing I noticed is when I measure the pint 7, it will restart the power led, if the power led is blue and I measure pin 7, the led will switch off and will turn to red (stand by).

Hi Tom, you were right, I changed the battery and now the readings are these ones:
The voltage regulators with code 1117B 3,3 542B has values these values: 5.08v, 3.3v and 0v. The variable voltage regulator code 1117B AD 931m have these values" 3.52v, 1.86v and 0.6v
I still have the issue with the mainboard not supplying 5v in some cases, it supplies 0.64v but in the 12v line supplies 12.2v which is ok.
Looks like the 0.64v provided on the 5v line is similar to one of the pins of the variable regulator...Leave a comment:

Hi Tom, Yes I am using a digital multimeter. There are 3 regulators 1117B 3,3 542B (I cannot find the datasheet) and one regulator (i think is variable) 1117B AD 931m.
I do not understand why I am getting 5v in some places (the power led for example) but in others just 0.8v.
It is weird because 0.8v is the same value as one of the pins of the variable regulator.
I have no idea what to do next, just trying different things and external power supplies

One thing I found is that when the does not turn on, the mainboard is sending 0.8 volts instead of 5v to the DVD board (this is a tv with integrated dvd combo).
but the 12v pint is OK, only the 5v pins are not getting the 5v.
Please see the attached image.
What could be the issue here to get less power? that is weird because sometimes it starts fine (very very few times). Also the power led is on and is a 5v led.

Finally, I checked 3 different IC with code 1117B 3,3 542B, the value of the 3 legs are 5.60, 3.70 and 0.
Also there is another IC with code 1117B AD 931m with values 4.09, 2.12 and 0.69 in the 3 legs.
What else can I check?

Hi, I will check the voltage regulators. One basic question, if I disconnect the screen from the mainboard, am I still in risk of an electric shock ?
The screen says "caution high voltage" but not the mainboard.
I am assuming that to check the voltage regulators, I have to have the plugged just the mainboard to the 12v external supply with all other things disconnected (lcd screen, etc)
