Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
Thanks for your reply.
I haven't seen the schematic for the speaker in these days because I am not feeling very well.
In a few days I will get back to work and i'll ask for your halp again ...
Thank you to the guys at HEGE supporting Badcaps [ HEGE ] [ HEGE DEX Chart ]

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
Hi guys, I finally got it the capacitors and replace the old broken one.
The pc turn on like usual and the only strange temperature is the core 2 that is higher than the others (Image Temp 1: 80degrees Celsius vs 50/60 of the other core).
In images "Temp 2" and "Temp 3" there are the other temperatures that seem normal..
There is a big problem: the two speakers are dead.
I measured the resistance of both speakers and it's 4 ohms, so they don't look burnt out ... so what can I check now?...

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
If i remeber correctly, the notebook temperature was around 40/45 degrees Celsius before...
now it's highter everywhere and i don't like it very much because this temperature is basically in standby, without doing anything
Obviously as soon as I find a capacitor of the same size i will add it!...

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
i'm here again with some update: i can't find anywhere that capacitor 22 microfarrads, 6.3V), i check the schematics of 10 old motherboard and.....nothing.
So i try something (maybe very stupid, i don't know): i turn it on with 2 capacitors (not 3) and it seems to be working well.
i check the temperature:
-ssd m2: 66/68 degrees Celsius (misured with Hard Disk Sentinel)
-CPU: core0 -> 57 degrees Celsius
core1 -> 59 degrees Celsius
core2 -> 72 degrees Celsius
core3...

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
I know the other capacitors may be elsewhere, but I wasn't sure...
Now l'am looking for capacitors on other motherboards...Last edited by Mike94990; 03-22-2020, 07:15 AM.

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
yep but i can't measure che capacity of the other capacitor (because i'll take the capacitor from another board but i can't measure their value)
I'm sorry for making you waste all this time but.... can you tell me the value?
I don't know how to find it in the schematics.
I feel so stupid, but i'm learning!...

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
In the first image you can see the heatpipe in red and the very hot point in green.
Now i'm waiting for a capacimeter from amazon to measure the capacitor (do you know some other way to measure with a normal multimeter?) because.... i burn the first one near the pl501....
I need another capacitor (the one in the second image)
Every time a move sometring, the situation gets worse ...

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
i just find out that 1 capacitor was shorted, so i solder it again and........ it turn on!!!!!
But There is a big problem: the temperature!
When i turn the pc on, the fan started normally and after 1 sec it stop.
I waited until the login screen (about 4 seconds) and the ssd and the black heatsink become very hot.
What can i do?...

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad s340 burned motherboard ?
A little update:
---I solder it again: i know that the result is a bit ugly (i can't go out from home because of coronavirus, so i can't buy flux paste) but the conductive rail under the component is practically destroyed, so i solder it with the rail on the top right side of the component (IMG 1).
---I measured the voltage between the PL501 and gnd and it is 12.5V (as schematics says)
---I try to turn on the pc without ram and ssd: it worked the first time (IMG 2), than i try...
