Re: Strange Delta DPS-222BP power supply behavior
Looking closely at the first photo, enlarging it, you can see the fine crack in the ferrite core, just like the ones I found on my transformers....

Re: Strange Delta DPS-222BP power supply behavior
I must add that I managed to find another TV at the rubbish tip which was been discarded in a backyard for quite some time. It was covered in sand and the like. Taking th power supply board out I noticed those transformers also cracked. That is why I have a photo of 3 cracked transformers. One is still OK....

Re: Hisense 40H3E No backlight
Hi Hanswr, I'm working on a JVC 55" UHD ED TV LT55N776A.
This TV was bound for the rubbish tip. On plugging it in, it has standby LED on, when switching on the TV the back light flashes for a split second. It has two groups of back light strips which I could test one by one. The left hand side didn't respond at all so dug deeper to find from all the back light LED's only one was failing. The TV seems to have a safety feature to shut down when this happens. Fingers crossed to just replace a single LED :-)

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Let me try to introduce myself here to see if I'm at the right page.
My name is Hans I'm a 72 year old communications technician with a keen interest in saving electronic bits going to the rubbish tip. I've recently been given a Sharp Aquos 70" TV that will not fire up. I've been following the thread "Strange Delta DPS-222BP power supply behavior" for a while but haven't made any progress finding why she won't work. Did I post this in the correct category ? :-)
