    MSAccess

    Hello everybody.

Can somebody please rescue me here. I'm neither a VB nor MS Access guru but I'm really willing and trying to give them a shot. My problem at the moment is validating some data that is captured through MS Access forms.I have two sets of data; City and Suburb. A suburb is within a city.In a form I have two comboboxes, one for cities and one for suburbs.A user should select a city and then select one of the suburbs in that city. Now to avoid users selecting a suburb that does not belong to a particular city,I would like to make the suburbs combobox list only suburbs...

    Just hangs

    Hi all.
Please help me out here.My machine cannot load OS (winXP Pro), it goes as far as displaying the screen with options like 'start windows normaly' and others (I know u know that stage) and then it stays there forever...whether I leave it to do the countdown or I press the Enter key. When I try installing Windows, setup runs pretty well until a point where it says 'Setup is starting windows', then again it stays there forever. Tried two different installation CDs, two different HDDs and two different CD-Roms, got same results. Can be a motherboard problem? If so, what might be wrong...

Yah,I agree wit u guys...tinkering with any OS wil usually result in disaster.I've learnt that from both my windows and linux machines. But i've realised that its more common in windows than in unix simply becoz most people treat their windows administrator account like any other account and they tend to almost everything from that account.U know, in linux the use of less privileged is highly encouraged and most linux users know that root account offers unlimited powers. In fact most windows users do not know that its advisable to do like its done in linux.I...

    Trapped in restart

    Hi all!
Here is my situation: I have a copy XP Pro somewhere in my C drive. So i decided to do an upgrade on my machine.I used that xp in my local drive although I wondered if it will work out coz I'v neva done that b4.The istallation process staerted well, the machine restarted and continued copying installation files. When it reched the "Istalling Windows" step i decided rest on the bed coz it said '54 minutes remaining' (it was around 1am in the morning).Of course i ended up taking a nap. When I got up,abt an hour later, I found that it was showing a menu screen with options like...

Holy Damn!!!Yeah, you are right kc8adu. Its all results of poor workmanship at Dell labs. I jus checked the psu cables and they have been stripped bare by one those poorly finished metals that holds the floppy drive. So closing the case kinda short circuited the thing. I gues i'v to either change the psu or insulate the wires individually with an insulating tape. Thanx a lot guys!!!

    GX280 not booting

    Hi guys!
I'm new here but I believe you can help out. I have a dell optiplex gx280 that is behaving in a strange manner. It all started after I opened to insert a memory module, which I did and then closed the machine(it's a desktop case). Then when i tried booting it, the machine didnt boot.I opened the machine again, took a look and everything was fine.I switched it while still open just to make sure it worked b4 closing it.This time it did boot and all was good. Then i closed the machine and tried switching it but failed to boot, the power LED kept on blinking. But when the machine is open...
