Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
The patch worked, thank you so much.
I've read the thread you sent.
Do I apply the FIT program to clean ME in my patched file?
Or I could also just patch an official BIOS dump, which should have a clean ME structure, then use it as the patch to remove password.
It's only necessary to write back my BIOS dump as the final step. The SAME patched BIOS can be used on the same X270 laptops?...

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
thx hoaca388,
do I flash this file as the patched BIOS, and do the password and Hardware ID part?
then flash back original BIOS dump?
What should I do create this file? I only followed the very beginning instructions to use autopatch using python.
again thank you for helping

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
Hello, I think I've followed all the instructions correct. (multiple dump, MD5 check, erase before flash, python 3.x, and etc.)
But after flashing patched BIOS file, my X270 failed to boot. (not even Lenovo Logo)
By flashing back my original BIOS, it booted up properly.
Can someone please patch the file for me, or check in my patched file is correct. Thank you so much.
Both files are in the attachment.Last edited by SMDFlea; 03-26-2023, 12:32 PM.

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
I tried using a SOP8 clip to read the BIOS, but always result "unable to identify chip".
I only removed internal battery. Leave CMOS battery untouched.
Do I have to remove CMOS battery?
I am not that handy with the soldering iron, I much prefer not removing the chip if possible.
Please help. Thank you....

Re: LENOVO BIOS AUTO-PATCHER for Supervisor Password Removal
this gonna be the 1st time I try patching my BIOS, and hope not brick the machine, so gonna take extra caution on this
Usually I would just remove external battery and disable the internal battery for RAM/SSD/HDD replacement.
Do I need to disconnect internal battery (X270) AND the CMOS battery for flashing the BIOS?
thank you.
