Thanks for the tips. Entering the full code didn't work, and I don't have an external keyboard handy. Would an external keyboard be automatically recognized, though? Seems like something that would have to be enabled in the BIOS which is a catch 22....

My given unlock code is af37ef70753648a1 but the BIOS input box on my Spin 3 only takes 10 characters. What can I do, please?

It's available locally and would be delivered fast, but seems to have fewer components than the one on aliexpress.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you point to a guide on backing up bios? Seem to be a lot of parts in the ch341a programmer on aliexpress, and there's probably no English guide.

Glad to find this site. Had a system crash on Acer Spin and couldn't get into uefi any more. I never set a password. I tried the code method but it's a 10 digit one and doesn't work. Hope I can find an answer here and learn more about the bios.
