Afternoon people, wondering if anyone can help with this motherboard, liquid damage, coke
Looking at pictures there's an area of damage where two resistors are now missing. Obv no schematics available but could anyone measure them for me, similar boards with different CPU/GPU possibly have
the same configuration around this chip (RT6338 marked RV=9J) last pic isn't of my board but shows the two resistors in the green circle, according to datasheet they feed a ENB/MODE pin on the IC and mode is set by different voltages hence this potential divider?

Just to confirm that dump from mcplslg123 is tested and working,
Worth noting in my case (where adapter sense and +19V were shorted in the adapter lead) that the Super I/O KBC KB3940 was suspected dead as well as F EON 25F16 (definitely dead, couldn't erase) No white LED at charge port laptop dead, 3V3 present at pin 8 of 25L16.

Am I correct in understanding this thread says to replace PCH
Have same motherboard with the same issue, power LED blinking continuously once adapter plugged in. Wont boot, tried reflashing BIOS with above-no change.

Excellent tip there Dannyx, was beginning to suspect the TL431 (U203) as it seemed the 12V rail overshot while the PSU was pulsing.
How ever read your thread went straight to my faulty IPS20-R6 and measured C397 on diode test...32R! Replaced and set sprung into life.

I have the exact same problem with a Toshiba L50B same BLI motherboard.
Both 3v3 and 5v present, also CPU heats up, no action on Power button press, no 3v3 on pin 8 SPI 25B64SIG.

Hi Tom, I know it's an old thread but I just sorted a PS42C450 with exactly the same fault, this thread helped me solve it. 2xRJH30E2 on XSUS short, replaced but still no joy no bang and issue of smoke lol. However proble was traced to s/c cap under silicon on YBUFFER. Never had this before, wondering in other cases if these caps can go short to kill the XSUS and then fry to o/c ?...Leave a comment:

I had the same problem... 64Kb and 128Kb to stuff into it, chip was 25L1005...that is a 128Kb device.
My CH431 programmer reported device smaller than file...didnt auto detect the chip correctly, manually set the device to MX25L1005 and order was restored. 5740 up and running

Hi guys, I have an update on this fault.
Working on a SONY KDL-40EX403, from standby (red) light turns green for around 2-3 seconds and then 2 red flashes. Not a firmware issue, it was the power supply APS-254 not turning on, so no 12V main for the SSB.
Found Q6302-6303 s/c R6342 (0.1R Fusable) o/c Q6302-6303 ARE 2SK4096 I had no stock, substituted with STP9NK50ZFP.

I have been battling with a TV Bush ICLCD32... with a vestel 17pw20 v1 PSU.
Same symptoms, set comes out of standby all rails appear good, ESR on caps all measure fine, the two 15n for the main supplies test OK. But the set just flicks back to standby.
