My Gigabyte motherboard GA-X58A-UD3R asks for:
1 x 8-pin ATX 12V power connector.
However, my Seasonic S12 Energy Plus SS-650HT has a 4 pin ATX 12V connector and an eight pin ESP12V connector.
Is the ESP12V connector okay for the ATX 12V requirement?

Is an ESP12V usable in place of ATX 12V?

The Gigabyte mobo mentioned above has the Lotes brand of socket you mention:

Think I'd probably go with the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R.
Thanks for all the advice, esp. about solid caps.Re: Recommended STABLE Motherboard?

Re: Recommended STABLE Motherboard?
Ideally something new, I haven't had an upgrade in a few years.. I don't necessarily need something expensive - just a motherboard from a trusted source.

Recommended STABLE Motherboard?
I've had a quick look around and haven't found an answer to my questions and as a seasoned forum admin and moderator myself I apologize if the answer does lie here somewhere.
Now my questions, can anyone recommend a motherboard that is of a good quality build, stable and not likely to have bad caps?
Also is there a particular brand out there that hasn't been affected by the bad cap phenomena - or any that were but have actively dealt with the problem effectively and won't leave me high and dry?

Re: Coloured capacitors - mean?
The capacitor in question has KZG on it, if I'm not mistaken that's supposed to be a reliable type?

Coloured capacitors - mean?
I've recently bought an old MSI motherboard with 4 x 1500uf 16v capacitors one of which is showing very obvious bulging on top.
These caps are brown in colour - I'm unclear as to what this means, should I only replace with brown caps (what do the colours mean)?
Apologies to the informed for what may seem a silly question.
